A great little side of the road place. A good offering of items with picnic tables on the sides to sit and eat. The food was done well and a good sized portion. While it is just stuck on the side of the road at the back is a view of the water and we did see a bald eagle over the water while we were there.

GREAT pitstop. We’re from Cape Cod and have a great reference for what fried clams and a fish sandwich should look and taste like! Five stars!! Beautiful food. Fried clams, Haddock sandwich and a burger for our pup was around $40. Huge amount of clams and a nice big piece of fish on the sandwich.

Burger was decent. Not very good but not bad either. Poutine was good I liked it personally. Food took about 20 minutes to be ready which is average but a little too long for driving by purposes.

Had fish & chips here & it was Awesome! I’m from Cape Breton & know fresh fish & this was It. Excellent grub & service as well…We’ll done

My favorite fried fish dish is not the same anymore. Breading changed ? Different cook? New tipping with one cup for help and other for cook? Get a life! Excellent river view, friendly efficient help, but food quality down this year.

Solid ice cream place. The only one in town, so far as I can tell. Also sells seafood, but didn’t get that. Ice cream definitely better than seafood after a hike on a hot and humid day.

The River’s Edge Drive is one route 1 in Machias. You can order everything from fried clams to ice cream. My clams were pleasantly crispy and I thought the fries were cooked just right. The soft serve ice cream tasted institutional and the lemonade was just ok. They do have some picnic tables but only a limited number and without umbrellas.

Great roadside place for lunch or dinner and Giffords ice cream for dessert !

Seafood baskets, wide variety of sides and many ice cream and custard treats. Even a doggie ice cream bowl with a dog biscuit on top. Takeout only, with fast moving lines of happy people. Tables on the river to enjoy your order on site.

So far the food has been fresh and delicious… having a cook and server separate tip jar is lame. Thanks for the great food!
