We stopped at this place because it was convenient to our location as we were traveling home from Houston. Now that we’ve eaten there, we are flabbergasted at the high reviews for this place. To start with some positive things, the menu was quite extensive with a lot of choices and the food came out very quickly. However, everything was overcooked. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp with french fries and they were both just shy of being burned. My daughter got the jumbo shrimp, which was fine. My wife got the Sweet and Spicy Chicken, which was so inedible she stopped trying after a few bites. It is rare that we regret going to a restaurant even if we won’t return, but this is one of those times.

I was visiting from Florida, and 3 of us dropped in for a meal… WOW!!! Everything we tried was fantastic, all homemade and fresh! Apparently, we were very hungry because we tried the jalapeno poppers, corn nuggets, Mexican shrimp cocktail appetizer, and then the salmon entree, bacon wrapped shrimp entree, and prime rib meal..gumbo aweaome! Absolutely outstanding.. My personal favorite was the coleslaw! I was amazed at how everything was freshly made from scratch… This is a gem.. Don’t let the location be deceiving…

I’m going to say this. Best food in Sealy hands down.I came thru recently, I lived here many years…the food DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Shrimp Alfredo, the shrimp were so well cooked, like butter in your mouth. The chicken Chef salad. Delicious..Chicken was tender and juicy and well SEASONED. Stay with the Freshness River Hills, please, this town desperately needs it..

If you’re a person of color or anybody who just loves flavor in their food this is not the Restaurant to go to I have spoke with the NAACP an hired attorney to file suit against this place they were very unprofessional there food was nasty .owner told me that he wasn’t the owner he was only a manager .the worker that works there is just horrible does not do tent to customers black customers that is she stated that she’ll pay for the food once I ask for my charge since the food was Burt and nasty. But when I got up to leave they called the police cause I told them I was going to write a review being a restaurant owner myself this was just not excitable.yhey told the police that I stole food from there which they know all the offices by name remember this is six dollars worth of food.I had six to ten police officers called on me. I was detained and they gave me a trespass for this restaurant Now take it I just filled up my gas tank with $180 worth of gas at this location but because they didn’t like the fact that I thought the food was nasty and They didn’t want to take it back they called the police and made up a big story to get the response they wanted this is not the place to go I have a lawsuit is pending do not eat at this location do not buy gas from this location

Fantastic food and service! Don’t let the fact that they are located in a Valero truck stop on I10 fool you. Best food I’ve had in a long time. Steak, shrimp, salmon, fresh veggies and salad were all amazing. Our waitress was so friendly! The chef is a culinary expert! Everything is made fresh and from scratch. We will return on our next trip on I10 westbound out of Houston!

Gem of a dining experience. This is what I’ve seen trending in other towns; restaurants opening in gas stations. But this isn’t a chain or fast food place. This is high quality food in what appears to have been another eating establishment attached to a gas station. The salad was simple bag variety and the green beans were canned but everything was well prepared. I had the catfish with shrimp and my wife, the salmon and both were prepared perfectly and were priced very reasonably. I look forward to trying more of their menu.

This is a gem of a restaurant. We were greeted at the door, seated promptly and given menus. River Hills is welcoming, clean and family friendly. Their menu offers a generous selection of foods. Our waitress, Leslie came to take our drink order and answer any questions. My husband ordered the Blackened Catfish with Etoufee, broccoli and fries. He had a cup of gumbo. I had the catfish with double order of broccoli (choice of two veggies), and we both had salads, which come with the orders. So, that is a lot of food and it was delicious. So good! The fish was just right and fresh, the broccoli was cooked to protection. We both took home a little. Leslie was very attentive and helpful. The lady that owns it, I think, was so nice. Great atmosphere!We can’t wait to go back again to try different dishes. The restaurant is attached to a large convince gas station, but don’t let that detour you. It is right off of I10 and well worth the stop.

Got gator bites as a appetizer and they are awesome they come with a sweet and mildly spicy dipping sauce. Talapia with crawfish etouffee, green beans, and mashed potatoes. That was my mom’s and she loved it. I tasted it as well and it’s very good. I had the delicious pan-fried Flounder w/ a chardonnay creamy sauce, (I wanted more of that sauce!) dirty rice, and a baked potato as a side substitute 1.99 extra. Overall food is delicious quality and quantity for your $$$$$, staff is great she knew what she was selling and has very fun personality!
