Rito’s Mexican Food is celebrating 45 years of business this year and we could not be more excited about the future as a company. What began as a neighborhood convenience store within the Garfield Historic Neighborhood quickly found itself selling more burritos and tacos from its limited to go only kitchen, than grocery goods. To that end, Rito and Rosemary Salinas decided to pivot the Rito’s concept into a take out only Mexican Food establishment that has served the Valley Of The Sun time honored family recipes spanning generations. Like a true family owned business Charlotte works along side her sister, nieces, nephews, sons and long time staff some of whom have been with the company over 30 years.

We walked into the restaurant not knowing they closed in 5 minutes, told them we were from outta town and had a long drive ahead of us. We asked if they would prefer to not serve us, since they were closing for the night and they replied NO, have a seat and let us get you guys something to drink. The staff was super friendly, the place was clean, kinda expensive. But mostly the food was absolutely amazing! Everything from the homemade chips and salsa to our steak chimiechanga. I will absolutely eat there again whenever I’m in town. I highly recommend stopping and trying the food!

Rito’s was alright, I expected a more restraint style place. But it has the setting of a cafe. You pay first when you’ve picked your meal and it is pretty much self serve. I had thought it odd that the receipt asked for a tip. Given you get your own cutlery which is pre packaged as well as a self serve fountain drink if you would like a soda. There are bottled drinks and alcohol as well. The atmosphere was light and my entree came to my table pretty quick. Very fresh ingredients and i almost burnt my mouth with the first bit! Don’t do that, let it cool!, first as mom would say. It was a nice place and there wasn’t anything bad about the place other than the paper plates and prepackaged cutlery. The food was great and service was quick!

This place is amazing! Best hot sauce ever! Best beans ever! They keep it simple and they keep it consistent! Other restaurants need to take notes.

This is a review of the last 2 times we’ve been here, though apparently I didn’t take pictures from both.

Very good food a little pricey but the quality was well worth it. Essentially it was just as good as a Restaurant but counter service.

Most underwhelming restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before our food and drink order was taken. (There was only one other party in the restaurant). Another 10 minutes went by before our food and drinks were brought out together. Food was fine but definitely not worth the cost. Quality of the food and the portion sizes do not match the prices.

Staff are friendly and the Mexican pizza was good. Used social distancing by the CDC and had speedy service. The serve brought my food to my car which was a bonus & she made it amazing ! Quick stop to eat.

The food is always amazing! Service was good but did appear to be understaffed. The poor young lady that was running the register and serving was running around like a chicken with its head cut off she was so busy and the cook would have to come out just to serve people alcohol because she’s not old enough to. They were the only people running the place and it was too busy for only two sets of hands on deck.

It’s close to $18 for a plate of food for a single person and you will easily exceed $20 if you had a drink , I’m sorry but this place is not high enough class to warrant that pricing. There’s plenty of competition I’n the are, either they will adjust or they will learn and somebody else will take their place.
