Worst dining experience of our lives. So bad that its almost laughable. Overpriced and mediocre food. Initially wanted to go for a nice sunset view, but trees were in the way and we couldn’t see anything.

Horrible restaurant! Our night started off with a small plate of fruit, that looked like it was leftovers from previous meals. Then we ordered our drinks $10 (little pricey, even for Maui). When we got our drinks we had a few sips and not only were they not good, they were disgusting. They tasted like the glasses had maybe just been used for beer without being rinsed or cleaned. Also had a long hair on the pineapple on my drink. We looked over the menu and noticed they had world famous ribs. We asked our waitress what she would recommend and all she said were the burgers and the steak, apparently not the world famous ribs. So finally we decided there were too many things going wrong and we paid up on our drinks and left.

How bad can service get? Delivered to table, got bread and water. No staff and no bread plate for olive oil, wife went and got one. No silverware. Ordered and then waited an hour for food. Ordered a bowl, got a cup of soup. Clams not good, didn’t eat. Wife asked for veggies, got rice. Didn’t send back cause we were hungry. Waited some more to pay the bill. Did like the atmosphere, talented guitarist and sports on TV. But won’t be back. Sometimes island service is, well, island service, but this was like when someone with Marijuana leaf socks is waiting on you. …a person who really needs sustenance should go elsewhere.

The last few times I’ve visited, this place has gotten progressively worse. Tonight, our server “forgot” to put our meal order in, never tended to our drinks, and was pretty much useless in her job. All on a super-chill Wednesday night for a party of 6. No drinks comps, and hardly a sincere apology. Spoke with the greaseball owner Steve and he was just as worthless as our server. An utterly unacceptable set of failures that any other respectable establishment would’ve offered up some kind of compensation.

This place is great! I’ve been there twice on my vacation here in Maui. I didn’t read these reviews before we went. And I’m really glad because I might have passed it up. We went for a casual lunch because its right in the middle of Kihei and has ocean views, great breezes and the food is good! They have delicious salads and burgers and the prices are decent compared to alot of places in Maui. I came on here to read about this place…put in my comment. And I give it 4 stars. Not sure why it gets the one star reviews. Service was great from Todd…fast and friendly. I’d go back just to try their happy hour and shoot a game of pool.

The service was super slow, the food was extremely bland, and it was a poor experience overall. They served bread and vinegar instead of chips and salsa to start. I ordered their onion rings with my meal. They cost $3. I received 3 medium sized onion rings. It was very diappointing. Their quesadillas had no flavor and their guacamole was sour.

The food was delicious, ribs were off da plate moist & flavorful, hamburgers cooked to perfection, pass on the fries if you like them crisp like I do, bread ono, fish w/ sauce was ono! The staff was quite pleasant, live music was entertaining, the view and swag shack was a perfect setting with the sunset view w/their provided binoculars. My family and I love our meals at Rita’s for the pass (maybe) 8 yrs.

Great food in what we ordered (mussels, pork with pineapple sauce, mango cheesecake), and very welcoming and friendly waiters. Maybe a bit unexperienced and clumsy but that’s forgivable. Also nice decoration and there was a musician playing country music, nice experience.

Bartender recommended the prime rib & It was the worst piece of meat I’ve ever eating 2 bites was all I could eat. If thats what they say is 1 of there best things on the menu. I can only imagine how bad the rest is. Stay away from this place!!!
