The food was good, and our server David was very nice and friendly! You could definitely tell he cared about our experience! The food did take a while, but you could tell they made a lot of it fresh so that wasn’t an issue. He grabbed it as soon as they rang the bell.

Food was great, atmosphere was very calm and ambient. We went a little later around closing time so there weren’t many people. Our waiter was nice and returned frequently to refill our drinks and bring our orders. We got the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli as a side, clam chowder, blooming onion, combination burrito, and enchiladas. The blooming onion was fresh, crispy, and went great with the ranch. The salmon and sides were great but a bit underseasoned. My brother ate the entire burrito without complaints. I definitely recommend the clam chowder.

Have you ever had a meal that was worth every penny? The flavors are well balanced, the staff, including the owner, are warm, kind and attentive. Our meal was incredibly delicious. Rita’s is a must stop for anyone visiting South Padre Island. We ordered the blackened grilled Red Snapper, Elote corn (absurdly tasty), cilantro lime rice, Rita’s mashed potatoes m, Coconut Shrimp and Shrimp Bisque.

Rita’s Restuarant was very relaxed, it was not as busy as most of the restaurants on the island, it was nice to have a quiet dinner inside and not have to wait for a table. Marz and Julian were great! Julian was waiting tables, and Marz was running the bar while assisting Julian. For having about 10 tables worth of people, the service was still of high quality and quick. The Shrimp Diablo was probably one of the best foods I have ever eaten. The bacon had the right amount of crunch with jumbo juicy delicate shrimp inside with a small amount of cream cheese and jalapeño. I usually devour my food, this was a meal that I took my sweet time with and thourouly enjoyed. The meal was so good I contemplated ordering another one for the road! Overall, great food and atmosphere! Keep the good food and service coming Rita’s, Marz and Julian thank you for the exceptional service and conversation!!

“Bland Food and drinks” Unfortunately we went to eat dinner on our 1st night at SPI and our food was flavorless, our drinks were horrible. The outdoor patio is nice but my Apple-tini was just a sugar drink, no olives. The Mango margarita and strawberry margarita were really fruit smoothies. I had to order & pay for a shot of tequila to add to my margarita drink. The burgers from McDonald’s are tastier. I really wish I could say 1 good thing about this restaurant but unfortunately the food and the drinks are just not worth your time and money. The place was empty when we arrived at 7pm and that should’ve told me to leave. I am posting an honest review of my experience as I stopped at this place because of recent reviews from other reviewers and they had mentioned food was great but either I selected a wrong day or those reviewers were paid to post a great review.

Absolutely the greatest cheesecake I’ve tasted and the presentation didn’t disappoint great place fantastic food and and our waitress Olivia above and beyond service made us feel like at home and the owner great smile and super attentive and kind to us 5 star restaurant indeed I recommend everyone to stop by and witness it with your own eyes…

I gave this place an overall 3. We were seated quickly in an empty restaurant. There was 1 dirty tabled that appeared to have had a gueat at it, recently. Our server hovered over us while we browsed the drink menu. One of us is a restaurant/bar manager and well acquainted with food service. She asked him to give us a few minutes. He left us alone for a very long time. When we could finally place our drink order, he had to keep going to the bar to ask if they had certain things. We finally had our order in, and the 2 beers arrived quickly. The 2 Liquor drinks took so long. We thought they had gone to another restaurant to purchase them. Some time later, our food arrived. The food was “fair,” but definitely nothing I’d write home a out. The overall experience was “ok.” I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend, but it was OK.

We went to eat dinner here as a party of 8 as soon as we walked in it looked pretty empty and quiet. We were seated quickly. When we were asked what we wanted to drink they were out of a lot of the options on the menu and when we ordered our food we had the same issues, where they were out of a lot of the choices. The wait time to get our food was really long, about 40 min. We were told that it was because they were training a lot of new people which we understood and they did keep checking on us if we were good on our drinks. When our food did finally come out it was good, tasted a little plain but still good. The margarita we ordered was given to us incorrectly, with the shot of tequila on the side instead of mixed with it. And when we told them that’s not what we wanted the waiter just said that the person that made it must’ve misunderstood it when they read the ticket but just left it at that. It wasn’t all the hype we had heard it was. More than likely won’t be returning here again.
