I’m going to start by saying this; I definitely recommend Ristorante Filippo! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Baby (in my NOLA accent) let me tell you, my family and I had an amazing dining experience. We were first greeted with a genuine smile and though our stop was impromptu we were seated within 5 minutes (maybe less). Our server was a handsome Italian looking guy who at first looked a little intimidating but he turned out to be very nice . We had the privilege of speaking with the owners and meeting Mr. Filippo himself , a handsome Italian fella who definitely knows his way around the kitchen ;the food was Molto delizioso!!❤️⭐️ The atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable, I felt like was in my own scene of The Godfather, sitting around the table with my family surrounded by plenty of food and drinks and laughter. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

Ristorante Filippo is an absolute treasure and one of the BEST Italian spots in all of New Orleans, plus it’s simply located in Metairie, tucked back right off of Causeway! The atmosphere is intimate with perfectly dimmed lighting. The House Cabernet is to die for and it pairs divinely with the Lasagna (the BEST Lasagna you will ever taste! And that’s coming from a true Lasagna aficionado)! The filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender and so flavorful! The service was spot on and the whole experience will leave you counting down the days until your return.

Very close to causeway Blvd and tucked a couple of blocks away from the hustle is this little gem. Get reservations because it is crowded but comfortable. Not a cheap place at all…but worth it. I was staying at the Sheraton (yuck) and i walked the 3 blocks there and 3 blocks back with my takeout. Salad was authentic Italian with capers Italian cheese olive lettuce and tomato…very good (not enough salad for two) and the entree came with a big piece of Italian bread!

Dining room was too loud to have a normal conversation at a 2 seat table. Food was passable, red sauce on the lasagna was off-puttingly sweet. The chicken marsala was bland. The watermelon and cucumber cocktail was great. Loved it. I really wanted to like this quaint little restaurant. Unfortunately, at $120 before tip for two people at dinner, it was overpriced for the meal and ambiance provided.

Very disappointed, ordered the special filet mignion medium rare; most tasteless $65 piece of meat I have ever come accross! The veal picanta was over done and over floured, the sauce was over powered with capers, nothing subtle or flavourful. It was busy, so we forgive our server for not bringing a steak knife until asked, not offering parmeagan for the pasta until asked, etc…. In short very meidiocre food, frightfully overpriced.

I would not be able to rate the food as the OWNER was so RUDE we left before we were seated. I made reservations for 7 this weekend. I had two people back out at last minute so our party of 7 became a party of 5. I explained that to the lady that greeted us at the door. As soon as I told her our number of guests changed, her attitude changed. She told me that I should have called and let them know, that every seat counts. While I understand that, I was not informed of our other 2 guests joining us until very late in the evening. Also, when you enter the restaurant, there is no waiting area. You walk in and you are practically on top of other guests seated at their tables. My husband had his back to the door when we entered. Another lady came in behind us but walked to a table. The door was left open. The OWNER proceeds to tell my husband to shut the door it is hot outside. Again, she was not very nice about it. Since there is very little room to move around, he shut the door, but with his back facing the door. The door did shut loudly, but the OWNER, yelled at him and told him that he did not have to slam the door. It was not his intention to slam the door. At this point my husband was ready to go. I had asked to wait and give it another try, which we did. My husband told our daughter in her ear that he will never come back to this restaurant again. He did not yell it for the entire restaurant to hear, but the OWNER did. She then proceeded to yell at him again. She yelled, what did you just mumble! He told her he was not talking to her, he was talking to his daughter. At that point, I had enough of the OWNERS rudeness. I told my family that we should leave, which we did. I told the OWNER I thought it was best we go. She continued to follow us as we were leaving. The best advice I would give the OWNER is to hire someone to run the front of the house. She does not have the right personality to deal with customers. I have never been treated like this at any restaurant EVER! Especially by the OWNER!

My favorite Italian restaurant in the New Orleans area. The eggplant medallions were delicious and I don’t really care for eggplant. The shrimp appetizer with olive oil and garlic was delish. Their red gravy was a tad bit sweet to me but delicious. Everyone else at the table absolutely loved their entrees (Trout Almondine, Veal Marsala, Veal Picatta and an Alfredo dish) all saying can it was the best they’ve ever had. The Tiramisu was excellent. Their bread pudding was OMG! You could really taste the cinnamon but it wasn’t overwhelming. We had to wait for a bit for our entrees but so worth the wait. Oh, I forgot. The coffee was really good, too.

Horrible noisy place. Food was ok. The place is too small for that many tables. Employees kept turning the A/C unit on and off so the dining room kept getting hot and cold. It’s a nice little place but way too noisy!
