1st time eating this food. The food was decent. Even though the carne was a bit salty for my taste. The staff was nice. The place was clean. Thank you, Rincon Criollo staff. This Army veteran is nice and full. Yessss that’s jalapeños and tortillas in the picture, had to add my swag to it, topped with sour cream.

When they say they close at 7pm…that means they want to be walking out at 7 pm. Don’t even think about dining in if you show up past 6 pm. They have to reheat the food if you order anything past 630 pm. I take it the really nice lady that worked there about a year ago must have sold the place.

We were so excited to find a place that serves real Caribbean food in GR! The owners are Dominican & we just came back from the DR last month. Delicious, fresh food! The empanadas were very flavorful (beef, chicken, and a delicious dessert one of guava and creamy cheese). The pork & chicken were fantastic, the habichuelas were so tasty. The tostones! Yum. We shared a super-sweet passion fruit juice & water. We ended up full and satisfied, with new friends. We came later in the evening (so some of the pictures are after they were done with the food for the night), but look forward to bringing our family. Will update pictures soon.

Tucked away on the city’s Southwest side is a great slice of Caribbean food. I am not kidding when I say everything I had including two appetizers and splitting two different dishes with a friend was fabulous.

We went as a family and we shared a little bit of everything. We started the meal with some tostones with chicken and empanadillas with guava and cheese. For the main entree I had the mofongo with shrimp and a side of Plantanos and it was so delicious. My wife ordered the Cubano sandwich and that too was very good. We will most definitely be coming back and we live over an hour away.

My boss showed me this place once he found out that I never had real Puerto Rican food before. The portions were generous and tasted great!

I’m giving one star to be able to write my review and because I’m a fan of fried plantains and those were good even though they were few for what they charged me for them. I work in all the states and when I got to Michigan I looked for a restaurant to eat good latin food because i’m cuban. I didn’t like it at all, the goat was half salty and with a lot of skin, the red beans (supposedly) had no flavor at all, my partner’s leg was dry and bland and the rice with pigeon peas seemed dry and discolored from the previous day. Not to mention that all the portions were small compared to the price they have. Despite the fact that I live in Florida where there is very delicious Hispanic food, I do not consider myself a picky person with food, but I only stated my criteria here so that it serves as a reference for others.

I ordered the shredded pork with mashed plantains with fried cheese topped with red onions. It was delicious. The plantain was nice and silky. The pork was great not too greasy. The meal didn’t feel heavy at all. Will definitely be back.
