Rick’s City Diner is a local, family-owned restaurant in Toledo, Ohio. The owner and his family opened the diner in 2013 and have served the community for over a decade now. We specialize in breakfast, lunch, and delicious sandwiches. Meatloaf is another local favorite. Our patio seating is perfect for a beautiful day, and the banquet room is spacious for parties of up to 25 guests. Our bar offers local beer and other alcoholic beverages for those ages 21+. Great flavor and service- I enjoyed eating here. Great Benedict dishes, kids meals are too crazy but covered all basic stuff, scrambled eggs, bacons and toast. I ordered French toasts , came out with 2 pieces and a syrup, for kids meal. I had Benedict Florentine, substitute potatoes with cottage cheese. Good coffee too. Service was very nice and quick. Breakfast took 20 mins for 4 orders. I would come back again.

What a fun, beautiful place!! You’re greeted with a smile and an enthusiastic, “Hi! How are you?” Meaghan was amazing!! GREAT service!! Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast. . .this place has them 7 different ways! But don’t worry. . .if you’re not into that, there’s PLENTY of other options: pancakes, omelets, waffles, French toast and a multitude of egg dishes. The food is delicious and generously portioned. They’ve been very creative in social distancing their tables/booths with life sized Micky and Minnie dolls, mannequins and other entertaining images. I’ll be back!!

Do to a new work perk, my son and I went to try out Rick’s diner for the first time today. As a vegetarian, I always like to check out the menu ahead of time to see if a place is worth my time. I was very excited by the menu options featured on Google. I was quite disappointed that the current menu didn’t match the one pictured here.

The wait staff was slow (owner said they were short staffed, but there was still 8+ wait staff running around the dining room), we waited an hour to get our food, which came out cold and missing sides that were extra, even needing one of our party to go up because our waitress wasn’t being attentive to our table, at which point the owner came over to apologize and give the excuse they were short 7 people. Even before we were seated they told us we could sit our party of 6 together and had us split our party between 2 tables, saying it was because the bigger tables had reservations for them (those tables stayed empty our entire visit that lasted over an hour). The experience was extremely frustrating and even the excuse of it being Father’s Day isn’t enough justification for the neglect experienced here today.
