It’s been several months since we dined here and after having time to reflect, I think this is the best restaurant in Charlotte.

This is undeniably the best dining experience I’ve ever had-

An absolutely incredible first experience at restaurant Constance this weekend. Service was phenomenal – it’s an all hands on deck situation and each individual we interacted with was knowledgeable, passionate, attentive, and kind. Everything was delicious, but the hamachi, dumplings, short ribs, and panna cotta (with a cinnamon foam!!!) were insane. Reasonably priced and portions are large. Bravo to the entire restaurant Constance crew. We can’t wait to come back.

A truly fantastic experience. Fine dining, yes, but also casual. The staff are so warm and take pride in their work. Chef served us two of our dishes personally. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. That brings me to the food…I’m sorry to say that you will be disappointed. You’ll be disappointed because all future meals not from Restaurant Constance will seem subpar. You’ll realize that all of those stuffy establishments uptown are over charging for subpar meals. The ambiance in the restaurant is fantastic. All other patrons were super kind. It is a small place, which makes it feel like a private party. Our meal felt more like a wedding rehearsal dinner with friends and family, instead of a dinner for two surrounded by strangers. I can’t emphasize enough how the warm atmosphere influenced our experience. Now on to the food (for real this time). To put it bluntly, it was great. The pork belly dumplings were so good, we didn’t even get a photo. Nuff said. The kale salad will either make you fall in love with kale all over again, or will turn you into a kale lover. The pork chop is THE MOVE! The pork rib tagine was amazing, but shadowed in comparison to the pork chop. I don’t know what type of sorcery they imbued that pig with, but it was the tastiest pork chop I’ve had in my life (and I’ve had some great ones)! The chocolate tort made me see god…or maybe that was the wine? This blend of Sangiovese from Montepulciano was fantastic. Although not cheap, it was less than $100/bottle. When pairing wines for fine dining meals, that price ain’t bad. All in all, this dinner was a STEAL compared to others we’ve had in CLT. Can’t wait to return!

Intentional is the first word that comes to mind when I recall my dinner this evening at Restaurant Constance. From the beautiful tableware thoughtfully handmade by Katy Lane Clay to the food and beverage pairing we were in awe. The tuna crudo literally melts in your mouth and is the perfect start to the experience. We also had the best dumplings I’ve ever had in my life – the dumpling wrapper was perfect and the sauce rounded it out. Do not sleep on their salads – we had the kale salad and I can say as a non kale eater that I would get this again in a heartbeat. For my main course I ordered the steak and it was perfectly cooked and the flavor was divine. We finished the meal with the oatmeal dessert and it was moist and flavorful – we had the dessert beverage pairing which made the dessert taste of peach cobbler. Almost every course had a table side interaction which added to the overall experience and thoughtfulness that is Restaurant Constance.

Had a wonderful meal and experience at Restaurant Constance in Charlotte, NC. My bf and I couldn’t wait to try it for his bday!! I didn’t realize until we got there that they took over the old Counter space. It’s a small minimalist space with maybe 15 tables. I loved the Chef’s touches including his favorite albums and a video of where all of his ingredients come from.

Hands down he most thoughtful culinary experience I have had in Charlotte to date – Local ingredients, open kitchen concept with a personable chef that isn’t hesitate to address you table side. This was the whole package – stellar food, great staff, great experience. 10/10 would recommend, will be back soon!

We had an amazing experience at Restaurant Constance for my birthday over the weekend! The food and beverages were top notch and all locally sourced. The dining room is very small but it allows for excellent and attentive service. I also really loved the open kitchen concept. We will 100% be back and definitely recommending this to all our friends!

For those who are looking to experience the seasonal, farm to table dining, you’ re going to be a little disappointed. From their web site, “..telling the stories of the farmers and suppliers of the foods that we serve.” We got none of that; no stories, no insight. This was one of the reasons we wanted to try it. We ordered the West Coast Oysters, the Kale Salad, the Tuna Crudo, the Soft Shell Crab, the Scallops, the Seared Tuna, and the Short Ribs.

I loved the food here. Each and every item felt fresh and tasty. I tried the cappacunio, kale salad, west coast oysters, jalapeno waffles, pork dumplings, & pork shank & coffee custard for dessert. Every item was so yumm and the servers and chef are sweet
