Wonderful staff- we loved our server- very knowledgeable. The food was amazingly delicious and healthy since it’s a farm-to-table concept and their location and view complete the work. A bit disappointed overall. Maybe it’s because I’m from New Orleans and had high hopes? The architecture is beautiful and well restored however our experience just didn’t connect. To start, I was billed with a $28 manhattan at the bar. Once seated, our waitress seemed rushed all night and un-interested in providing a proper experience one might expect at a venue such as this. We felt extremely rushed and had little explanation of the menu or what we needed. At one point I asked her what her rush was, and she responded that she couldn’t help it – that she was a mother. Being a father of two I didn’t really understand that at all, nor did it seem to be an appropriate response. In the end the food was very good, drinks arguably overpriced and experience falling flat. Would not recommend.

Very special place and not stuffy at all! David’s service is kind, soft-spoken, full of in-depth menu explanation and expert wine pairing suggestions. We made another dinner reservation before finishing the first dinner! Chef is doing great things and the getting is good while they strive for their stars and the prices are reasonable. Don’t miss the chicken paillard and duck breast as they are full of flavor the the Liberty duck is dry aged and hatch crosscut so many times that the skin is crisp as like a confit. Blew our minds!

Well, they did it. They completely redid this restaurant and turned things around. My earlier review was 2* after I had a frankly disastrous meal, but my visit today changed my perception of this place completely. The gnocchi, cocktails, and appetizers I had were uniformly enjoyable, the service was friendly, and the ambience is very pleasant.

Sadly, our experience at the new Madrona didn’t meet advertised (one Michelin star) expectations. It barely notched a one star for this Google review. Some of our subpar experiences may have had to do with the fact that their longtime chef had recently departed Madrona. Nonetheless, if you’re still advertising your Michelin star, and charging guests one-star prices, it’s best to deliver that promise no matter who is running the kitchen.
