Imagine going to eat at some one’s house… it is a lot like that! Freshly home-made food that is comforting. The plates and forks are a throw back of my grandmas dishes but I loved it. It made me feel like we were special guests at a tea party. Service was slow and that’s why I took one star away, but service was friendly enough. Our waitress didn’t speak fluent English so she did not seem confident to speak much with us but she understood us alright. I recommend going for the lunch specials because ordering a la carte was a little pricey. I will go back to try more dishes!!

Not being very familiar with Armenian food, I asked for some recommendations and was not disappointed. Everything was delicious. The woman even literally brought out all the desserts so I could pick one out. I felt uneasy at first, as I sometimes do, going into Eastern European establishments (I am over 50% eastern european, but I don’t “look” like it), but the lady made me feel very welcomed and took very good care of me. I would certainly return again. There was some berry juice with the actual berries that sat at the bottom and was brought a spoon so I could get every last amazing piece out.

PLEASE NOTE: If you order on line, you need to call the restaurant to make sure they received your order (don’t know why they have an online ordering system….). I ordered on line and arrived at the pick up time provided. The manager said she does not look at her phone, that I should have called to confirm they got my order. I showed them what I ordered, and they said “oh that will take too much time” (don’t know if they were trying to close early, it was 7:30pm). She said wait, they’ll put something together. We really wanted to try the place out. She came out with a bunch of food, nothing at all that we ordered. She counted it all up and claimed that it was close to the cost I had ordered. I argued that one, I did not get anything that I ordered, and two, she was shorting me several dollars. She offered me some cake, but then had a fit when I asked for two! They need to learn a bit more about customer service. The good itself was pretty good, although again, nothing that we ordered….

A pleasant time at this local restaurant. The food was very good overall. All the starters were solid except for one that I wasn’t a fan of. The host and waitress were very nice

The dishes were very delicious, especially the lamb kabob, the soup chanahi. Their bread is really good too. Although, there is one con, their service is poor. We had an appointment made, the table wasn’t ready, we weren’t guided to a table, but were told where to sit with a careless tone. Within 45 minutes we got our glasses and water when I finally said something about that. For the soup we were only given three pieces of bread while people at another table got a full basket of pieces of bread even though they came in after us. She told me another loaf is baking so she’ll come back and bring some more. The bread came to my table when I finished eating my soup without much of any bread. After ordering from the menu, I also wanted to request an eggplant for my kabob. The waitress told me to wait so she could attend to other clients that just came with a child and didn’t fulfill my order. Then came another employee, so I asked her for that eggplant and also asked for a drunk cherry cake. The woman said okay and left. After waiting a while for that eggplant and ate our food, we still waited for our cake. Finally, the first waitress told us that they don’t even have the cake we asked for. She began yelling at me for not telling her I wanted an eggplant served at the same time as the kabob. She then waved her hands saying that she’s ready to drop everything and leave the place. She claimed I was complaining to someone about her when I haven’t left the table. So I told her that the only person I complained to was to her. I barely restrained myself to continue eating the food to not ruin the mood for Mother’s Day. The menu has a huge variety but when it comes to choosing what we want, there are many options that aren’t available. They come out with the dishes to the people and ask who ordered what, not knowing who they are serving. They should have their menu updated and serve the clients that came first and number the tables, taking orders from specific tables, in a more organized way. Their attitude to citizen-born Americans is more kindly and positive meanwhile more rude and careless to us who speak a foreign language. Why do they treat people differently based on their backgrounds? I forced myself to add somewhat of a tip rather than nothing for them before I left.

I will not hesitate to say that in 10 years that I live in Chicago this is THE MOST RIDICULOUS food place I’ve been to.

This place is a little Armenia away from home. The food tastes amazing, from the yummy kebabs to the freshly baked bread. The staff was super nice and helped add a cozy vibe to our experience. Recommend!!!

We had happened upon this place a month ago for a late lunch, and enjoyed it. We invited friends to join us for dinner. The website has a “Contact Us” opportunity, which I clicked on this morning. I asked whether they took reservations and that we are interested in a table for 4 at 6 PM. I did not hear back, so did make back-up reservations at another restaurant nearby. Thank goodness I did, because when my husband and I walked in at 6:03, the proprieter looked inquisitively at us. I asked whether they had a table for 4 (only one table was seated at the time), and she retorted, “did you call today?” I said, ‘no, I e-mailed.’ She let out a snort and said, “I don’t look at e-mails. We don’t have space.” Fine, but why have a ‘Contact Us’ via e-mail if you don’t actually check it? I will not be going back. The previous lunch was interesting but not extraordinary enough to be treated rudely.

Me and my friend went on Thursday evening to have diner. (7:25pm) As soon we walked in, the lady(blond hair) gave us very unpleasant look. We told her that we called, she then sat us. And suggested to come back on Saturday. Every dish that we would ask, she would say I wouldn’t recommend it( я вам не предлагаю эту еду, она старая) we asked about the soups, she said she would not recommend it. I wanted to have khachapuri she said come back on saturday when everything is fresh. She said that avocado salad was fresh and the shashlyk’s are fresh. We then, ordered the salad and shashlyk’s. she gave us some bread that was so old (bread was smelling acetone, overstayed smell of the bread) and the avocado salad tasted rotten, they covered it with some oil, so it stays fresh in color ( i really regret that i did not take a picture of it). The avocado salad( supposedly) looked like guacamole with some sunflower oil on top. I immediately told my friend that i m afraid to get poisoned. (I am pregnant) we decided to leave the place. Then, i went to the back of the restaurant to cancel the order, lady asked if i want to cancel meats too? At this point, of course! i saw the kitchen, how dirty it was. I can not believe, where the health department is looking.
