In a reverent nod to the history of the property, most of the dishes have either passed through or somehow been touched by the hearth. Loved this restaurant! We had a large birthday party there. We worked with Brittney one of the events coordinators. She was amazing to work with and always so responsive. She ensured we had the best time! We did a 3 course dinner for our large party. The food was amazing, best salad I think I have ever had. The appetizers were great and we all enjoyed the craft cocktails. Everyone loved their main dishes. The servers were very attentive and great to work with. I would love to come back to have dinner anytime. Not to mention the beautiful interior as well as beautiful plantation home.

The atmosphere alone is worth the drive. There’s a very good, light-hearted vibe in the restaurant. The staff are happy to work there, and I mean really happy. They all spoke so highly of the chef. You can tell he knows how to create a fantastic experience for the customer and the staff alike. The food is gorgeous, and the flavors…there so much going on in one bite. I’ve never eaten anywhere that I can taste a different layer of complexity eat time I chew the same bite. Everything being partially cooked in the hearth made this a very unique dining experience. The portions look small, but they are very filling, so start small and order more, if needed. We ended up with so many leftovers.

We recently dined at 1796 when our daughter graduated from LSU. It was a fantastic experience from the moment we set foot in the restaurant. The bartender artistically created wonderful and different drinks and the food was fantastic. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend it. They treated our daughter very well based on her recent graduation including table sparklers paired with an amazing dessert tray!. We all agreed that the restaurant most definitely ranks in our top five of all time!

Very nice restaurant, located in Saint Francisville, Louisiana. This restaurant is part of the Myrtles plantation. Service was great. The food was a little salty, but still very delicious. On the weekends all they serve is brunch, so that’s what we got. We enjoyed our time, and our food at this historic restaurant. Very attractive restaurant, with a woodfired oven. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

The food and atmosphere is incredible at this restaurant. We had filet mignon, ribeye and two appetizers. The staff was amazing and the cooks were even more amazing. The only thing that I would mention is that if you don’t ask for specific alcohol you will receive well drinks. Unfortunately I didn’t catch on to that and ended up with a major headache the next day. The bartenders however, were very knowledgeable and ran an amazing bar. There are so many different options for beautiful cocktails.

This restaurant has flavor, atmosphere, and (most importantly) personality. The food is amazing. I ordered the mushroom brie and the BBQ short ribs. The brie was an amazing blend of earthy, savory, and sweetness in a way that left me with absolute joy and a wonderful mouth feel. The BBQ short ribs are fall apart and everything I could have asked for in a meal. The risotto is undeniably the superstar of the dish. It is creamy and savory with a hint of acidity that I still cannot pinpoint. I will try to go back one more time to try their burger, because it is exicting to think about how it will be elevated. Also, the servers are wonderful people and kind conversationalist (when prompted by the patron). A rare trait in many restaurants today. The price is higher than one might be used to, but not higher than the quality served and the service rendered by an amazing staff. I can only wish that this treasure maintain its status in the St. Francisville community.

It’s been a while since a restaurant has absolutely wowed me, but the service was excellent (coming from a former server) and the food was divine!! I had the lamb meatballs and a half strawberry salad. The cheese sauce for the meatballs was to die for! I also tried a friend’s grilled Caesar salad and it was excellent as well. Our server Olivia was great, and I will say what’s even more impressive is how well everyone works together to keep the table clear and drinks full. Highly recommend this place!

I went there with 3 others last Friday night. The best atmosphere, appetizers, entrees and desert. Most places rush you and your food is served on top of each other but here we was able to relax and enjoy the food and the people we were with. I highly suggest you reserve and have the best night
