Wow! Really good food at a great value. The locally sourced beef was so good. I got the beef tenderloin my date got the red tail burger. Both were cooked perfectly and so juicy and delicious. The plating, portions and presentation were perfect. The sangria was really good as well. Very impressed with this place. We have been exploring restaurants in the area and this is the best so far. Great selection of beer though I don’t enjoy beer so I can’t speak to the quality.

Where do I start? Fantastic! Can’t believe they have only been open since January. They are a well tuned business with a friendly atmosphere and outstanding food. Our waitress was friendly, informative, and attentive. The chef made rounds to help things go smoothly and the owner even sat a moment and chatted with us. The food? We tried two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts and AMAZING!!! We travel all over to eat good food and we are feeling thrilled this morning that we have such a wonderful place in our own “backyard”! The only downfall I can see is the awning out front! I grocery shop literally next door and was not even aware this restaurant existed the last 5 months. The awning covers any signage on the window and even with gps, we were second guessing if we were in the right area. We will spread the word on this place, it’s a keeper and we can’t wait to return!!!

We went to the restaurant on a Friday evening for dinner. There were four of us. All of our drinks, starters, and dinners were excellent. The service was very prompt. The chef came out and asked us if we liked our meals which was a nice touch. As we were leaving, a gentleman who I think was the owner asked us about our meals too. We are so thrilled to have a nice restaurant in Allegan! We are telling everyone in our neighborhood about it. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food!

Nice ambiance and friendly service. Ordered a burger, which seemed to take an exceptionally long time to cook. May have been a lunch party made it in right before us. Red Tail burger was good, but holy cow was it a grease bomb! Could definitely feel the weight of that one all afternoon.

Me, my husband, and our one year old were here for dinner tonight. Nice cozy ambience and attentive staff. They were very thoughtful and asking several times if I needed anything for our little one. I got the beef tenderloin and my hubby got the red rail burger. Both were quite good. Steak was cooked to order. A tad pricey but was worth it for sure. Glad to see such a nice classy place in Allegan!

My brother and I came in after receiving a mailer for 10%off, which we forgot at home… but anyway…we sat at the bar for dinner and it was nothing short of amazing. We were greeted promptly by Eric who knew every beer on draft in full detail (much appreciated by this beer drinker), and then placed our orders for tonight’s surf n turf special with a shared order of the white chicken chili. Everything was spot on. I only had a slight dislike to the salmon because it was a bit more fishy than I like which is personal preference. Filet was cooked exact to medium rare. The hash and potatoes served with it were also great. I really loved the feel of this restaurant. It is a great addition to Allegan and we will definitely return. Great environment, beautiful setting, friendly and prompt service.

The food was excellent. I had a small ceasar salad and the whitefish grenoble. The fish came with a delicate white sauce thick with cherry tomato slices and capers. The service was as good as the meal. My only disappointment was that my wife and I had a 7:00 PM reservation and by that time three of the evening’s specials were sold out. I very much plan on going again.

The food was good. I had the BBQ ribs. Lots of meat on them Bones. My meal wasn’t very expensive either. Although I am not much of a drinker, the bartender is very good at making mixed drinks.

My husband took me to redtail for a late Valentines dinner. We walked in and we were asked if we had a reservation, in which we didn’t. Everybody looked uneasy because we didn’t and at least 3 different people came to look at the seating chart like it was a huge problem. They did say they had a seat for us and seated us close to the bathrooms. We ordered cocktails and again felt as though we were out of place when the man (manager or bartender?) came to my husband and said that the drink he ordered was a $12.00 drink and that maybe he wanted something else. My husband knew how much the drink was when he ordered it. He told them that it was fine. I myself wanted to leave then. We then ordered our food which was delicious. Portions were very small, but the meat was cooked to perfection, but for $26.00 a plate you would think they would have real potatos not instant. We then had to flag down the server to order another drink. The next drinks took forever to get to us. We felt as though we were treated like second class citizens and for that shame on them. Our bill came to $98.00 which didn’t matter to us. We were just looking to have a great night out since we don’t get the opportunity to do that as much as we would like, but after being treated that way I wouldn’t recommend Redtail to any of my friends, family or my business clientele.

A quite little place that we are so glad to find. The steak was medium, as my husband wanted. I had White fish, and it was amazing!! I didn’t need salt or pepper. They did it right!… Most places can not. In my opinion it should not be such a quite hideaway. They need to advertise….Well worth it!
