Ordered 2 sampler platters and they were horrible. I definitely do not recommend. The ribs were DRY and I mean DRY. The beef tasted funny. The pork was overly fatty. The chicken was the best part of the meat. The fries were soggy and I mean like ewwww soggy. The toast was definitely barley toasted & the barbecue was not good at all not sure what brand it is but Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Not worth the $50 spent.

This place has changed over the years and unfortunately it’s not for the better. Decided to take the kids here for lunch on Sunday.

I used to live in JC, and this place was a landmark. Tom was a great host and the food was consistently great. Tom is now gone, but we thought we would give it a try. Friday at 7pm, 4 people dining. Not a good sign. Ordered the Pig Pack, as always. They had it out in about 30 seconds. No “thank you”, just set it on the counter and turned away. Get home and what we find is disappointing at best. No BBQ beans, but green beans that look like yesterday’s left-overs(wrong, and nobody said anything). Slaw looks like it came from the bottom of a bucket, and the buns are a pathetic excuse for a cost-cutting measure. I see why this place was empty, and Tom must be rolling over in his grave. Just go under already, or sell it to someone who wants to carry on a tradition.

Hadn’t been in a year, very disappointed! Don’t waste your money on a side salad, you might get 4 or 5 bites. My husband had a BBQ and said the sauce was horrible, not like it is too be!. Sad thing is $30 for myself and husband and left hungry, portions are very small!

cleanest dining room ive seen, the atmosphere set me back to small town living. the food was really good and prepared by a involved cook. the staff was friendly and answered any questions we had on the menu. the prices were very reasonable!!! definitely a new favorite local spot!

My papaw used to take me here 20 years ago. Just recently rediscovered it a month ago and have eaten there 3 times since. My whole family loves the twice baked potatoes. Bbq beans are great with a hint of smoke flavor. The pulled pork is the best I’ve ever had. I like to get the family pig pack with the twice baked potatoes. Its plenty of food for a family of five.

They’ve got the old Poor Richard’s sandwiches. They’re really close and a good choice if you’re a Poor Richard’s fan. My only suggestion would be to steam them like Poor Richard’s did.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! This will be the last time I eat at this establishment. I observed a gentleman with special needs being made fun of and even was told by one of the employees to stop at hat he was doing . They continued to talk and watch him with nasty comments. The gentleman did not do anything wrong but drop his silverware plastic on the floor. Do better people !!! That’s was sooo rude !!!! WILL NEVER RETURN!!!!!!

Love stopping in and picking up a Pig Pack – easy for a quick and easy dinner. Love the sour slaw and the BBQ is delicious.
