I had just gotten done working out and was craving some pho. So I googled pho near me and Red Pepper was open and close. When I arrived the sign outside reps Chinese food. I thought, let’s give it a try. Come to find out it’s Chinese, Vietnamese and Cambodian. So this intrigued me. I sat down and ordered the house tea. Which was delicious. But when the Vietnamese egg rolls came out. They were heavily greasy and the grease that they fried in didn’t have the greatest taste. The sauce was pretty good that it came with but the grease outweighed the flavor of the sauce. The pho was mediocre for taste. Definitely something lacking and not very fatty. Which I’m fine with not being fatty, but the base of the soup needs to have a good flavor to it and I felt that it lacked on that. The ginger chicken was definitely a good dish and I will praise that, not over sauced and the chicken was very tender. But overall I think flavors should be important.

Ordered chicken lo mein and it had a piece of metal wire in one of my bites. Almost swallowed it but it got caught at the back of my mouth and i was able to fish it out. Likely from a metal dish scrub, which means theyre not washing or rinsing their pans properly. Ive ordered from here a few times, but this is unacceptable. If I had swallowed this is could have severely injured me, potentially causing internal perforations. Never risking it again.

The food here is very good and flavorful. I have not been disappointed yet. Unfortunately the person we visited who lived nearby has moved so we may not be back here. The Red Pepper is always very clean and neat. The portions are very generous so that I can get another meal out of it. I would suggest that everyone in your group get something different and share.

I’ll start out by saying I had the Red Pepper Beef and it was the best plate of Chinese food I’ve ever put in my mouth. Outstanding. The fried rice was good, the lo mein was great. We also had the steamed dumplings which were huge. I’m used to smaller ones and these were very doughy. The sauce however made them palatable. I would not order them again. Food came out fast enough but took forever to get our check. It wasn’t really that busy, maybe 6-7 tables on a Saturday dinner rush. 2 servers and someone working the phone.

The driver from DoorDash followed instructions wonderfully. Too bad the restaurant didn’t I received chow mein fried rice and egg rolls with no soy sauce or duck sauce The fried rice tasted like it had been cooked in a dirty burnt pan it tasted burnt and acrid. The chow mein needed soy sauce desperately as did the fried rice to cover up the taste. You have lost a customer I used to eat in your restaurant at least once a week I will never return and I definitely will never order take out from you ever again. You just save me between 150 to $200 a month. This restaurant has gone downhill rapidly. Have you noticed the owners/managers only respond to five star reviews never a bad one So sad. They do not value their customers.

Sometimes it’s really good, sometimes it’s bad. Tonight was bad. I ordered tofu vegetable and the tofu smelled a little off. I took a bite and it was sour. I’m an avid tofu eater…its not supposed to taste expired. Had to throw it all away, the smell and taste made me gag. 🙁
