Although this resturant os not at all what I was expecting, especially with it being the only one in Riesel I was pleasantly surprised Not at all fancy reminded me more of a country store, casual dress, comfortable atmosphere, quite a few choices on the menu, which I’m hoping to try each one at some point. They are well known for their amazing steak’s which looked and smelled fantastic. O had the chicken fried steak which was huge and very delicious/.the sides vary and some days they have specials and open for lunch. Prices are a bit on the high side however worth it because of the great service. Quality and quantity of the meals all freshly made when order placed. Call ahead. Take out, dine in all are great choices. Come Early on weekends I think everything in town eats there as well. This is what I call A True Texas Dining Experience.

Great place! The Chicken Fried Steak is delicious. There were 4 of us – 3 had the CFS and one had Chicken Tenders. We had mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, fried okra, and corn. All were very good. Friendly atmosphere. Great service. Worth the stop.

I love small towns. The people are awesome, and the food is better! Hit this place on a Friday or Saturday night for the cap steak. It’s the cap of the ribeye. It is oddly shaped, but delicious! The sides were also terrific! The fried okra ( and I’m not an okra fan) was superb. The seeds burst in my mouth like caviar. This place is certainly better than Diamondbacks in Waco and absolutely worth the 30 minute drive. I will be back on a regular basis.

Steaks are seared to perfection…the the beef quality is really good, tasty etc., oh and sides are wonderful too)…grilled veggies are so good, btw. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is southern hospitality at its finest. Make the drive, this place offers great food and a great experience, my family loves eating here. Big chains can never deliver this type of experience.

Got the sirloin and it was excellent. Wish I was closer to eat here more often. Like how they had the grilled squash/zucchini as a side. Also got a side salad and it was very good.

Even if you are 50 miles out of the way, you need to make a stop here and eat. The steak was spectacular! We were talking about the food for the next hundred miles down the road. Wonderful people and great food. Just an amazing experience all round! This is now on the list for my crews just like stopping in West for kolaches!!
