Cute but delicious. If you drive or walk too fast you might mias this Encinitas gem. Highly recommend their chile verde…. I had the pork and the flavors were all there. Then you add those views and atmosphere. Even the 7/11 across the street plays ambient music (opera)

The food was good…nothing fancy but it was tasty and served in a timely fashion. They give you a beeper to let you know when to come up for your food. There are two tables with umbrellas to eat at. I’m glad it wasn’t crowded when we went so that we got to sit at a table and eat. We love supporting the ‘mom and pop’ establishments. Well done!

This place is awesome. Best California burrito I’ve ever had. Of the few critical reviews I read they had to be from a few “Karen’s” who need to get a clue. If you pass through Encinitas without stopping at Raul’s Shack you will be missing a great meal.

Excellent food. Excellent salsa/taco sauce. Would have been 5 stars but nowhere to wash your hands. I think that’s against some CA health code? Regardless, all food establishments should have a place to at least wash up, not just hand sanitizer. Kinda gross in that regard.

Hands down the best authentic and affordable Mexican joint in the Encinitas area. The burritos and tacos are delicious and made with love. Employees are fun and friendly. Flavor is on point and you can’t beat the value anywhere else in town. They’ve been in business in the same focal location for over 30 years because they do it right. Just happened to come across Rauls Shack, and you know if it’s out of a tiny shack close to the beach…it’s gonna be good! And yummy deliciousness it was! Got there around 130p so considered the lunch rush was over, there were 2 others. By the time we left in 30 min I bet we saw 12 more people stop in! Obvi Rauls Shack knows what’s good!

It’s a shack, so don’t expect much in terms of accommodations. Two shaded tables and chairs are available. The food is quite tasty and highly recommended. Try their fish burritos or fish tacos. This spot is now on our go-to list when in the area.
