Rare is a whole vibe! Valet parking is available but I’m not sure of there is a self-park option. We made reservations for 7pm and were walked right in to our table. There was no live music on the night we went but the stage was set up for it. There was good music playing and the waitstaff from the door to our table was AMAZING! Appetizer: Our waitress promptly took our drink order and highly suggested the fried okra with housemade garlic ranch. OMG! I have never in my life had such amazing okra. It’s was seasoned and fried to perfection. I could eat that as a meal. My husband had the garlic butter shrimp on brioche bread and it was hitting as well! ! Alcohol: My drink was delicious and had the right amount of kick to get you feeling good. Main Entrée: I ordered the wagyu steak, medium rare with a side of bacon jelly brussel sprouts. WOW! My steak was cooked to perfection and I literally cut it with a butter knife. Now let’s get into those Brussel sprouts. BABY! Tender, flavorful, and bacon just makes everything better! It was a Fiesta in my mouth! My husband ordered the seafood pasta and it did not disappoint! DESSERT: We were celebrating my birthday and our amazing waitress brought me a rum cake with ice cream. I was full but I made some room for a few bites and I know someones grandmother blessed that cake. OUTSIDE: There is an outside patio that offers handmade cigars and a view. Upstairs is a bar with hookah available and a view of the city. DOWNSIDE: My only complaint and the reason I did not give Rare 5 stars is the temperature in the dining area was warm. There was an obvious temperature difference Upstairs compared to downstairs. After my food and drink I was hot and somewhat uncomfortable. PRICE: The price point is high but I felt the quality of the food was worth it. If you are looking for a quality meal and a vibe I highly recommend Rare. There is a dress code but I really didn’t see that being enforced. Either way, we’ll definitely be back.

Spent my bachelorette weekend in Houston and had dinner at Rare. First our server Lidtzza was amazing! I probably spelt her name wrong but she was helpful and very friendly made us feel very welcomed. Secondly, the food – hands down delicious. My party had 8 people so we ordered just about every appetizer and shared them – delicious. My favorite was the char-boiled oysters. Dinner did not disappoint I had the seafood pasta, others had steak or lamb chops. Finally, the live music was so good. I’ll definitely be back! You should go!

My 1st at Rare, I was impressed. My girlfriends and I went for the first time on a Thursday night. The restuarant was not packed at all. We were seated promptly. I ordered the Fuegoma, perfect drink love the presentation with the flames! Great taste. I substituted the Mezcal with Don Julio. We also had lemon drop martinis.

The food and vibe was great, the staff was very friendly and inviting. Our waitress was on point and knew her stuff about the menu and made sure we were good. My husband got a chance to speak to the owner which made his night. It was just parking for me waiting for 15 minutes to bring us our car to leave. Over all I would go again and sit in the hookah bar area this time Dr was on point☺️ I’m the person that try new restaurants and see for myself but also look at the reviews

I liked this place. I went for brunch with my friends. I made a reservation online before coming, but I do not think you need to. I ordered the jerk lamb chops, breakfast potatoes, and eggs. It was tasty. I also got the strawberry lemonade which I liked a lot. My meal was a little more expensive because of the lamb chops but those were very delicious.

Talk about upscale dining and this place must be included. I’ve visited this location a while back but I’m so happy to visit again. My waitress JaNae was everything! She was knowledgeable and super friendly. The manager Godfrey made himself known and was friendly. The atmosphere was excellent. It was an awesome place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I will absolutely be back.

Me and my family of 10 came for the first time to celebrate Father’s Day. We were seated in the private dining room which was fine, but the room was very hot and did not feel like the air conditioner was working. Our server Raven told us they had just recently started having A/C issues. The manager brought in a box fan. When she turned the fan on in the room it was way too loud and it altered the ambience so we opted to go without the fan. Since we were there during brunch we were given the brunch menu. Okay that was fine but we did not have the option of ordering from the main menu. This was a big problem. There are only 13 items to choose from on the brunch menu and they are all breakfast items. Very disappointing. I thought this was an upscale place due to the dress code (no athletic sneakers, athletic wear, oversized clothing), well they don’t adhere to or inforce the dress code. There were young men in athletic wear, sneakers, and oversized clothing. Very disappointing. There was also a child, a young boy maybe six or seven years old at the bar. It appeared as though someone couldn’t find a babysitter and had to bring him to work with them. Raven was a good waitress, the food was good (scrambled eggs, toast, bacon – breakfast food at 2pm), Franklin the valet was good. Parking is not good, at all. You would need to park on the street or valet. It was $10 to valet. Franklin told us if you pay with a cc, it’s a dollar extra. The valet area is actually the parking lot, literally 100 ft or less from the front door. When we were ready to go, we just walked a few feet to our cars but had to pay $10, disappointing. This is a true bar/lounge vs a restaurant.

I had a double reservation on the first Sunday after Rare’s grand opening for brunch and dinner; also experienced the roof top lounge area, so this is my review of all three. Brunch was good – the ambiance was classy and the food was delicious. We shared shrimp and grits, red velvet French toast, and Rare Chilaquiles. Service was polite but not upscale. Our waiter brought us wet plates and when I pointed it out to her, she responded as if that was acceptable until I handed them back to her to dry off. We had an 11:30a reservation but they were out of ingredients for some of the drinks on the menu, and still didn’t have those ingredients come our 5pm reservation. Brunch prices were reasonable and fair for the food and presentation we received.

A few things definitely didn’t add up. Our food was not it. Unfortunately it’s hard to get quality work service right now. I will definitely give this place a chance again in a few months. Parking is Valet only. I think this place will be better once management hire better help. This will a great place once Ownership make customer service adjustments and Chef items.
