I’m a little surprised by the low rating The Rafters Smokehouse has. I felt like the food was better than to be expected up in the mountain. Staff is SO friendly. If you go during the lunch rush hour, you’re gonna have to wait awhile. From my two days on the mountain I’ve noticed that this place is busy from 12-1:45. So if you don’t want to wait for an hour+ try to go before or after. Granted this review is based on weekday visits. As for the price, I guess I know it’s gonna cost me, so I wasn’t shocked. I don’t mind paying for the cost of food with it being better than traditional bar food and friendly staff. Pro tip: Open a tab when you order. The runners will be able to get you anything you need without having to wait in line again!

This place is just okay. Obviously it’s part of the mountain and part of the experience. Typical apres ski bar with subpar food. HOWEVER, their nachos are BOMB. I’ve taken plenty of pictures to document them. Besides the good nachos, the service is pretty bad. The remainder of the food is par at best. They do offer a good atmosphere for apres ski beers though.

Awesome place for lunch midday at the mountain! Highly recommend the pork belly BLT and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Staff was great and the drinks were delicious!

Just a heads up for anyone that used to enjoy Rafters Mac&Cheese or Grilled Cheese. They’ve changed the recipe for both, and not for the better… they used to use a nice smoked Gouda and now your grilled cheese will come with a couple cheap deli slices that won’t be completely melted… the Mac and cheese, formerly my sons favorite, now uses what looks and tastes like cheap state fair nacho sauce…. As a customer When considering the price you are paying for the food, one would hope for higher quality not wider profit margins. Rafters WAS doing great considering it’s just cheese and bread. Please don’t try and fix something that wasn’t broken!

Food was pretty good. Prices were a tad high, which was to be expected. The live music could have been quiter. Seating was plentiful.

We ate lunch there on Sunday Dec 12, 2021. It is a relatively small restaurant, but their kitchen is either undersized or understaffed – lead time from placing an order (as simple as hamburger and mac and cheese) was 40 to 45 minutes. We arrived at 11:20 am and they were already out of all chicken plates and sandwiches. Waitresses try hard to get food and checks delivered to guests as quickly as they can, but there is only that much that they can do if kitchen is way behind. Food was OK, better than the total garbage typical for ski resorts, but less thrilling than one would expect for the price and worse than one generally expects from a full service restaurant. One generally wants to get a quick but filling meal at a ski resort and go back to skiing. This is not it. Neither speed nor food quality is there. Nothing to “write home about”.

Pretty mediocre place, but there isn’t much of an option while on the mountain, ha. Service was alright. Food has never been very good. On a previous visit I had the Mac and Cheese… Which was not good, surprisingly. This time around we had the cheddar and broccoli soup, not good, and the Wheel Burger. Patty was burnt and onion straws were cold. We went at a time when it was super slow. The burger was $17. Fry’s were also really salty. I’d suggest not getting a burger.

I wish I could give it 0 star. Crystal dinning options is a disaster and this place is worst of them. 30 min after we ordered and waited I went to the guy who was taking the order and he said he forgot to add my entree and he was like oh maybe I didn’t push the button or forgot to do it.

Should have read reviews first. Server is nice, beer is good, Cesar salad is meh with less than fresh Romain and uninspiring croutons

Terrible service, staff stands around talking to each other, and they don’t seem to care. Food was cold and will not be coming back. We ski Crystal MOUNTAIN MOST WEEKENDS but will not waste my money here.
