People who frequent R bar probably want to keep it quietly out of the limelight so it doesn’t turn into a place where long lines to get a seat, would take away from it’s R bar “essence.” We enjoy that first name basis and when your a regular they bring that glass of water and Pepsi just knowing that’s your “usual”. That’s special!

Nice casual place where we met friends for a light dinner. Nothing fancy but real tasty, I had the prime rib sandwich and that was stuffed to the hilt and good to the last bite. All of us enjoyed our meals.

I came on Friday for the fish fry. I have been to almost every place in Buffalo for fish fries as I’ve lived here my whole life. I consider myself a connoisseur of fish fry and can differentiate the quality of fish the way it’s cooked how it’s prepared and it taste smell appearance so the general public can have a good idea of what they’re getting into. The restaurant sits on a busy stretch of Broadway with train tracks across the street and trains running and very loud. The restaurant is not dirty but its not very clean, the staff seemed friendly and helpful so I have no complaints about service. The price of the fish was $12 and with it you got coleslaw macaroni salad potato salad a beat which is unusual a piece of bread rye bread to be specific and tartar sauce with french fries. The dimensions of the fish after it was cooked we are approximately 10 inches long 3 two maybe three and a half inches at its widest and at the end maybe an inch to a half of an inch at its smallest and approximately 3/8 to a half an inch thick. The fish haddock, was of low quality multiple bones were still in the fish. The fish was dry and very oily. The battering was not only over cooked but hard and difficult to cut with your fork, Fish Fry should easily be able to be cut with a fork, the fish with the battering when done properly should be light and airy and the fish should taste fresh and almost have a light taste where is this fish tasted very very oily and very dry. I got approximately halfway through the fish and I could not finish it. The coleslaw was saggy it should have a crisp and light taste, the macaroni salad was okay, the French fries were not cooked well enough and they were soggy, and the bread was small and I got an end that was hard. All in all this was probably one of the worst fish fries in Buffalo I’ve ever had. I’m sure this place is nice to come to during a game to have a couple of beers and hang out with friends has the environment seems welcoming. But I certainly would not recommend the fish, there are a number of places in this close vicinity that would be much more appropriate and cheaper. I have yet to try anything else on the menu but because I’ll pour the fish was I’m unlikely to come back to even give it a second shot. Thank you for reading my review

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was taco Tuesday! $1.50 a taco and let me tell you, I had a tough time finishing 2. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Very clean. Will be back soon!

The waitress was having a VERY bad day!! Had to ask for our drinks that the order was taken but never served!! The fish dinners came out beer battered but ordered breaded!! Never came back to ask “How we were doing”? Like she asked all the other tables. I had to call her over to ask for another drink and tell her of my fish being wrong, she did reduce the cost that was good on there part.
