Not impressed. The injera bread was sitting in bags in the sitting area. It didn’t appear that it was prepared fresh. We tried the vegetarian sampler platter with a few meat dishes. We ordered beef, lamb and chicken, but only were served beef and chicken. When we pointed this out the server acted put out and argued that we were served lamb. I would think that they would’ve been happy that we were ordering more food. The flavor was okay, but nothing like we’ve had at other places.

A welcoming little slice of life very close to what you’d expect in Addis Ababa: Ethiopians linger here to dine, make business deals, drink rich dark coffee in demi-tasse cups, watch their soccer teams on the flat screen, exchange bits of ET gossip over shots of honey wine: “tej.” Plates are very pleasing, perhaps doro wot is where you might begin. Chicken in a spicy sauce, surrounded by heaps of tasty lentils, greens, perhaps a hard boiled egg (optional) to be shared with your table mates. Injera, a flat bread, something like a tortilla, but made more like a pancake & made by hand from millet flour is served with every dish . You don’t need table ware. Injera is meant to be scooped through your dish, picking up the delicious flavors of the beef, lamb, chicken or fish entrees. There are plenty of vegetarian options, as well. As a cultural norm, the first scoop with sauce is fed to your loved one or your friend. By you. It’s a kind & wise tradition. Take care of others. Pay it forward.

Food was average compared to other Ethiopian restaurants around town. Service was pretty bad even with there being only a few customers. Waitress was rude and acted like she didn’t want to serve us. Price was ok for quantity of food but food also tasted not fresh.

I usually order online for delivery but I also have gone inside a few times. The owner is awesome and the server is good too, maybe could use a little more practice in English. I’ve ordered the quanta fir fir to die for, and I also get awaze tibs which was phenomenal. My favorite thing to order is the In n Out Geba wet. It’s simple but yet so delicious the way they make it. The meat you can tell is always fresh. Overall this is my go to Ethiopian restaurant and I’ve tried a few of them in Inglewood ladera heights area, queen Sheba is the best to me. Highly recommend those items I listed above.

If you are Habishaw or lived in Ethiopia you know what you want and how it should be. Saba’s place is the real deal. I had an absolute feast here. The shiro was perfect as well as the Tej served in a brille. You don’t need to be confused about where to go, this is the place. GOBEZ!
