Qualla Java Café is a specialty craft coffee shop located in Cherokee, NC. At Qualla Java we roast, in house, the highest grade Free Trade Organic beans sourced from the Tolima region in west-central Colombia. A region fully inscribed by the Andean mountains and the Magdalena river basin. Qualla Java was founded by a pair of Haskell Indian Nations University alumni. We love coffee. Coffee has been a staple in our lives since our time at university in Lawrence, KS. Having the opportunity to roast our own blend of coffee is a cathartic practice and gives Qualla Java full control over our product. Every day Qualla Java works to support our local community and demonstrate environmental stewardship.

Cute coffee shop in Cherokee in a pretty area. Coffee roast is great and they have unique flavors. I would have never added ginger to my coffee before, now I will try it at home (it could have used a bit more). 4 stars since prices are a bit higher than others in the area. Love their logo. Wish they made stickers for customers to purchase.

This was hands down one of the best coffees I have ever had. Great customer service. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. They roast their own beans!

Very chill vibe. Lots of space to relax indoors or out. Coffee options are extensive with a lot of special drink options. I had the butter bear which is super sweet. They made it less sweet for me but it’s still a sweet drink. Staff are very friendly. Overall a great coffee shop.

The coffee of course is absolutely amazing!!! I used to work here a LONG time ago was a barista for 5 years here!! However the people here lack some serious customer service!!! Not polite and are just down right rude. I know the coffee is delicious but I honestly think I’m going to take my business elsewhere where the people are genuinely nice. I have been coming here for years and I normally wouldn’t put a bad review of a place where I have a lot of good memories with but it just happens way too much!!! Someone needs to teach these people what manners are. Shouldn’t even be taught just be a decent human being it’s not hard…

The Black Snake iced coffee is the best! We now drink raspberry in our ice coffee regardless of where we buy it, but still haven’t found anything as good as this one! I would buy 2 for myself each time we visited. Employees were always super nice too!

This is a great coffee place. You can just get a cup and hang around. They also offer wifi as this area has limited network. You can also reserve one of the conference type rooms here. I loved that they had toys for the kids to play.

It has been over 2 weeks since my visit and I’m still sad that I didn’t grab some coffee to bring home. The coffee was smooth and well roasted and the flavour combinations are unusual but work very well. Would go so far as to say one of the best lattes I’ve had! Definitely recommend a stop here if you are in Cherokee. If you guys ever decide to ship your coffee to the UK, please give me a shout!

If you are near or in Cherokee, NC this is the place to visit. The coffee was the best I’d ever had. The service was great. The shop is located by the creek and it’s such a beautiful place to sit and drink coffee. I highly recommend and will visit again as soon as I can.

Went in and was immediately excited due to the menu and overall appeal of the design and coziness. However, ordered a medium iced drink and the worker read it back to me exactly as ordered. They served my drink hot so I kindly pointed out that I had ordered it iced and they looked at each other. The guy I ordered it from said they would remake it and the female barista said, “I am NOT remaking that, you can make it” making me feel immediately awkward. She then continues to talk about me “ordering it wrong” for several minutes while I sit right in front of them. Finally, the male barista makes my drink and serves it and lo and behold, it’s a small drink, when I had paid for a medium. Then I tasted it thinking, well at least I have my coffee. When I tell you it tasted like straight syrup, it tasted like sugar, not a chai latte. My friend had gotten the same drink but a different flavor and hers was very good. Not sure if the bad drink was out of spite or just a new barista. However, I will never go back.
