Recommended by the Whaling Museum, we went for lunch. The Stuffed Quahog was good for appetizer and we loved the crunchy cod fish. So fresh!

Nice little spot! Service was great and food came out fast! Lobster grilled cheese was absolutely delicious as well as lobster roll. Definitely recommend the truffle fries!

Best fries with truffle oil, parmasan cheese, and scallions. Service was great, however it was quite loud as is typical for a tavern. Excellent drinks too.

I brought my son here for a birthday dinner. Downright awful. Online advertised maple steak they were off the menu. My son chose salmon, they uniquely conceal its awfulness with sauce. Then serve overcooked asparagus and “roasted potatoes”, which are literally leftovers from their breakfast menu. My fish was thin, flat, and dry. I had to pay $4 extra for truffle fries, which is just shaking some cheese on regular fries. I don’t usually get mixed drinks in places like this because they’re giant glasses of juice. The beer was beyond overpriced. The server however was a lovely young lady who had just started that day, and I hope she applies somewhere else once she’s trained. It was Juneteenth, so many places were closed and Cultivator had an issue and couldn’t make hot food. I should’ve went to Fathoms, it’s always delicious and consistent. Better choices -Cultivator, Black Whale, Cork, Fathoms, Cafe Italia, Black Bass or Sail Loft.

Nice atmosphere. They have outdoor seating beside the cobblestone street behind the whaling museum and quaint indoor seating either at the bar or next to it. I had the fish and chips, which was very good (sorry, no pic, I devoured it before I thought of the pic). The calamari was very tasty! The portions were good for the prices which were reasonable.

Great little place to vibe at. The bar tender was so awesome she really cares for people and takes care of them. The tuna tartar and tuna stacks were to die for. You have to try their infused bloody Mary and their Mai Thi from a barrel

$70 for a cold jumbo lobster roll. YAY. I wish I requested it warm. It was OK nonetheless. However my friend got “fish and chips” and it was completely over cooked and fried til u can’t fry it no more. Staff was a little wacky. I’d come back for a drink when I’m in the area.

I was in New Bedford on business, and I had a few hours to unwind before the end of my day. I took a stroll around the waterfront of this quaint New England city and found the Whaler’s Tavern. The ambiance was delightful, the food and drink were delicious, and the locals here were friendly. I would really like to come back during the peak tourism season and experience more of this city. Fun fact: In the 1840s, New Bedford was considered one of the wealthiest cities in the world

We went here after visiting the whale museum. The food was very good, seemed like locals are there which is a good sign in my book.
