Pueblo Maya, a new 4,500 square foot Mexican restaurant opened its doors on January 16th. Pueblo Maya is located at 33 Buford Village Way Suite 311, Buford, 30518, in Buford Village across from the Buford Community Center. The restaurant serves authentic Mexican food and drinks in a warm, festive atmosphere.
General Manager Carlos Diaz, describes the extensive menu as “fresh-made Mexican food with a modern flair. We offer classic Mexican dishes as well as some signature dishes not available anywhere else,” says Diaz. Inspired by the boldness and bounty of Mexico, the menu is an original interpretation of Mexican cuisine that embraces contemporary flavors and ingredients. Patrons will find dishes like the Chilaquiles, you will love it.

Very nice dining atmosphere, has an upscale feel to it. Tables, booths and a large bar. Went for lunch, party of eight and were seated and served fast. Chips and salsa were served immediately. Great menu with lots of options. Kids menu had a good selection with a very nice portion size. Food was good but a few dishes were cold when served. Chicken and beef items were very tasty and fresh, but shrimp seemed to be frozen. I would visit again and was happy with the lunch food and service.

This is a “good” Mexican restaurant in the heart of Buford, GA. Personally, I wasn’t so impressed with the quality of the food because we are spoiled here in Georgia having SO many Mexicans living here and being able to enjoy really REALLY outstanding Mexican food. It’s not like this place is bad, but it can be A LOT better. However, their Guacamole was excellent. I ordered Chicken fajitas and I wasn’t impressed at all. The Chicken was very dry, over cooked, the tortillas were few and just nothing to write home about. So, guys, let’s get our sleeves rolled up and get to work! You have serious competition and this might fly with people that don’t really know the Mexican cuisine, such as gringos, but for the rest of us, this won’t cut it.

We have held a lot of company birthday parties here and Christmas events but today was such a terrible experience that we will NEVER go back! Management has switched and it’s very clear that service is going downhill! The restaurant is big yet they seated us ( group of 10) in the middle of booths where people were already eating. We were there for a birthday so it was crowded with gifts and cakes. Got the drinks wrong, the food is definitely not the same they serve less and it’s bland. They barely checked up on us. When we went to cut our cakes and open gifts the waitress kept asking us to move since they were trying to get by ( once again all tables empty and they crowded everyone into one section). The worst part was when we went to pay , we gave our cards and cash they did not have enough change they say they had a new system and kept coming up with the wrong amount to charge on the card. They know that we are there on our lunch break at that point we were already 10 minutes late to work. Manager was there but didn’t care to help the waitresses resolve the issue at all. We used to love celebrating our events there but we do not plan to ever go again.

The food is delicious. The service is quick and attentive. The atmosphere is more contemporary in nature and my wife and I thoughly enjoyed it! The prices are really great too. It is family friendly and the staff made us feel like we were welcome even when our 13 month old got a little upset. In a nutshell, they care about their customers and it shows.

Our food was great, as usual. The drinks were fantastic; we chose Platinum Margaritas. Sandra was attentive, quick, and paid attention to details many servers overlook. My husband is a carnivore and I am a vegetarian. We both ate well and Sandra made certain our 4 year old had a spoon for his rice and an extra cherry on his dessert so we could enjoy our drinks and talk.

We come here regularly for lunch but I want to specifically write about how great our company holiday party here was! We had about 60 people come in and the staff set up a fajita and nacho buffet for us. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The food was great and warm the whole time. It was also very affordable for a group our size. They let us spend time in the room and did not rush us. I would highly recommend it for a company party!

My company had an amazing Christmas party experience at this restaurant! Excellence customer service and very good authentic Mexican foods. They beautifully decorated our spacious private party room for about 50 people. We love Mr. Carlos and his outstanding Team! Can’t wait till next Christmas.
