Had a great time at Public Landing – I cannot say enough about the service we had here. It was amazing and better than expected; all staff went above and beyond in assuring that we had a wonderful time. We were there for a brunch baby shower. Food was very good and the mimosas were delicious, with our server making sure everyone’s glasses were always filled. I would definitely come back if we had another event.

Food was not as good as I hoped for. Cool little place, nice staff, decently priced, and different in a good way atmosphere.

Love love love this place. Went with the hubby to get the best crab cakes anywhere ever only to be disappointed they changed the recipe. Please bring back the crab cakes with the corn salsa! I used to tell EVERYONE about the landings crab cakes. Still good but NOT the same.

Just a wonderful place for lunch or dinner! Outside dining is still available and it has a lovely atmosphere. My friend and I had walked part of the I & M canal walk so we were in shorts and t shirts. Most people were dressed more in business casual, but to the credit of the dining staff we were seated in a lovely spot. The small museum inside the Public Landing building was a great and wonderful read about the history of the Lockport area and Joliet.

The Illinois Woman’s Press Association held their annual awards luncheon there for the 2nd year. The staff was great and polite. The food was delicious. The baked chicken with mashed potatoes along with the pretzel bread was a good choice for the luncheon. We added the beef with peppers which was a hit.

I’m not quite sure how to start this review. My family held my wedding shower here in August. We had heard good things from friends in Lockport about Public Landing as a restaurant and obviously were very excited considering what type of event we were celebrating. My parents had had dinner here a couple times and enjoyed their experience. However, when my mom was attempting to set up decorations for the shower, the event coordinator Dana (who I now have heard people have had problems with before) was very abrasive and rude. My mom, stressed for time, asked to enter the venue 30 mins earlier to set up a balloon arch as we already were only granted 30 mins for setup before guests would arrive. Exactly 24 hours after my mom made this plea, Dana accusingly told my mom that many other people have had no problem setting up in the allotted 30 mins with balloon arches and that my mom was aware of the access time upon booking. We all found this very condescending. It is no secret that when planning a wedding couples & families work very closely with many event coordinators. I have met many other event coordinators who have no problem being accommodating with clients, as that’s just good business. I’m not quite sure why Dana wasn’t aware of this upon booking. The wait staff was excellent, the manager was helpful, and the food was pretty good. However, I can not recommend any brides or families in general host any private events here when the event coordinator leaves a lot to be desired and there are businesses out there who will respect their customers.

Met some close friends for dinner. The food was excellent and portions abundant. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions.

My wife loves their bread pudding, can’t get it in most restaurants. It’s excellent. I had the Reuben sandwich and corned beef tough this time. Service and atmosphere relaxed, very good.

Food is very good, prices a little on the high side. Did not like the fact that I had to give them a charge card number to hold our table. That would only hold table for a certain amount of time. But expected us to be ok with waiting at the bar for fifteen to twenty minutes to be seated. Waitressing staff over worked and can’t be that attentive. Short menu, and took the lamb chops off the menu, and also the lobster bisque. The main reason my wife and I enjoyed going there.
