A Modern Homage to French Gastronomy

Redefining upscale dining on the Cape May Peninsula, Provence seduces diners with what can only be described as a beautifully choreographed synergy of food, flavors and techniques, plated with undeniable flair and whimsey. The French refer to such a gastronomical experience as plaisir des lèvres et de l’âme or pleasure of the soul through one’s lips… classic, french, modern and quite simply euphoric. Set in a stunningly renovated 1854 historic mansion reminiscent of a french country chateau, diners are taken on a magical journey that indulges all one’s senses. Join us for our six course prix fixe tasting menu sensation.

The food was incredible. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when they brought out the dishes, they looked beautiful and tasted even better. Really well done. The menu changes every couple months so keep that in mind. The building is also really cool, old historic building that’s been refurbished with a lot of the original materials.

This was an amazing experience of culinary sensations. Every dish had an astounding sauce. The presentation of each dish was a work of art, a wonder to behold. We ate outside in the huge romantic deck bespectacled with overhead lights and triangular awnings. The waiter was incredible attentive and gave a great description of each dish. The indoor dining area was elegant and quiet. A superb experience. Will return again and again. Great gluten free options. Helpful with food allergies. Elegant bed and breakfast named Peninsula! Beautiful heated private pool hidden in yard. Congratulations to the owners and chef!

When this restaurant first opened I was thrilled. I dined here several times and truly enjoyed everything….and wholeheartedly recommended it to everyone. The atmosphere with the refined decor, professional and polished staff and of course impeccable presentation of each and every course…. couldn’t believe I was in Cape May County. The food was of the highest quality.and expertly prepared. I haven’t been here in awhile as the only drawback was eating so much food later in the evening. Now they have a brunch menu which I was eager to try….but we had some questions as now there is a different chef and the menu is no longer French but global. We called and the person on the phone was quasi professional but didn’t have any answers to the inquiries and seemed confused. We did receive a poorly written vague email in response some days later. This doesn’t seem at all the level of service we experienced before. If the front of the house is an indicator of the back of the house….it is questionable. That factor and the menu that seems to be all over the place makes me want to hesitate going to the restaurant which is on the higher end and be disappointed It seems the new chef is trying out different options to see what sticks. But it is no longer “Modern French”.

Detailed prep, deliciously culinary. Art for the appetite and eyes! (FOOD PHOTOS AT END, apologies!) Very magical surroundings. Recommended for special nights, or anytime you feel like treating yourself to an experience. Menu changes monthly. Dedicated pastry chef as well. Chef and staff, Thank you all for your care and amazing food presentation! Consider hosting a special event like a wedding or anniversary celebration as well (schedule a tour of their other building/grounds on property, a few photos shown here)《♡》

Everything was absolutely stellar. We had our engagement dinner here last night and enjoyed ourselves very much. It is so inspiring to see other Chefs have such a passion for cooking. Not only that, everything is local and super fresh. That is truly what cooking is about! Flavors were incredible and service was on point! Peak hospitality. Thank you! Can’t wait to come back in the future!!! Oui Chef! ‍

There is a set menu which changes from month to month. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding as everything was presented to our table at once. Don’t miss dessert!

I ate at this restaurant as part of my stay at the Peninsula Bed & Breakfast in Cape May Court House, NJ. The 2-course breakfast each day was remarkable (thank you chef Kamala and I forget the chef for Wed but both were incredible). The servers Doris and Alex were exceptionally attentive. Whether you go for a meal or book a wonderful night’s stay at the B&B, you will be transformed and transported into a quaint French provincial location. I almost didn’t want to post this because I want to keep it a secret but it was hard not to praise this property. loved it and I can’t wait to return!

TERRIBLE SERVICE & MEDIOCRE FOOD. My husband and I decided to try their Valentines Day meal. The only available reservation was at 8:30, which is late for us. Regardless, we were excited. We didn’t get the first course until 9:15, 45 minutes later. Their portions are small, which we anticipated, but we didn’t plan on waiting 45 minutes for two bites of food. The service was terrible. It was 2.5 hours total, we left at 11pm; and the food was mediocre. If you want to charge $125 for a five course meal either have exceptional food or exceptional service. You can’t be terrible at one and mediocre at the other. We reached out to the restaurant first to let them know how disappointed we were and they never even got back to apologize or make an excuse or anything. There was no manager on site monitoring service, it dragged down an otherwise amazing short vacation. We will never go there again and even though we have stayed at one of their B&B’s, we will reconsider doing so in the future. SO DISAPPOINTING!
