Prejean’s was an unexpected stop on our way home and what a delightful surprise it was. Everything we ordered was delicious. The soft shell BLT is a sandwich I will be dreaming about later. They use a glazed thick cut bacon that complements the crispy crab in the best way. The andouille smoked duck gumbo was spicy and seasoned so well it made you want another bite before you even swallow the last one. Even the French fries were perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried goodness. I’d be willing to make the four hour drive again in the future. Definitely a must visit.

Absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was great. Josiah was our server and was constantly on top of it. We had stuffed mushrooms, and crawfish nachos for appetizers. Delicious. We also had the red beans w/ rice and fried pork chop w/ green beans. Shrimp Dianne, Pasta Magnolia were also favs at the table. Only concern was our 18 mo old had kids catfish. Then batter was a little spicy, I know it’s Cajun cooking but a little less spice for the kids would be perfect. Will be back!

Drove in from San Antonio, TX and was in the area for a family function on Friday, June 2nd. Hubby had never been farther than Lake Charles so wanted to show him around Lafayette and surrounding towns of my childhood Plus, let him try some real Cajun Country food!!!!

Definitely recommend!! The food tasted like my great aunts and grandma and mom were all in the kitchen cooking; everything we tried was delicious . The service was welcoming and comfortable; other guest that were there were just as pleasant and kind, not one unpleasnt feeling. Oh and the cocktails were fabulous! . This was worth taking the ride from New Orleans. #thisislouisianacooking

We came for lunch and Cajun seafood near me. Ordered gator bites, flatbread boudin, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and burgers. The food was wonderful and the service was great. I definitely recommend!

Every time I am in Lafayette I come to Prejean’s at least once. Best Cajun cuisine around this area! The Seafood Gumbo is great and the seasoning on the chicken is finger-licking good!

Great food. Great service. Nice people meet you at the door. Great experience. The shrimp and grits were amazing. I think it was actually shrimp on dirty rice or something. We’ll definitely stop in again if we get a chance. It’s worth divirting off I-10 to get a bite here if you’re passing through like we were. This is the real deal if you’re looking for authentic Cajun food. Yum.

The description of the Softshell Crab BLT sounded yummy, except that it was served on a brioche bun. I’m not a brioche bread fan. I asked for french bread instead. My sandwich arrived without bacon. The waitress brought me two pieces of bacon on a plate.?? The cold uneventful fries were bad. First strike.. I ate one half of the poboy, the second 1/2 I removed the bread on top to put Tabasco on the Crab…see attached photo. I was dumbfounded!! Spoke to the manager and asked why wouldn’t the kitchen cut the bread to fit the size of the crab?? Her response was “You asked for it on French Bread. And I asked again, kitchen could have cut the bread to fit the size of the crab.. basically it was my fault. What I was served was an insult!!! Second strike… This sandwich cost $17!!! I cannot give any star’s for the food!! The new owners need to stick to what they know well and that is…Making Pizza!

The waitress was super sweet. Food was great. Dessert could have been better – we got it to go and it was cold.
