My pasta was soupy, not creamy, the beef was awful. Plates came out cold. the wine glasses were cheap and my white wine was warm. The service was good but I was disappointed with the food.

My first time dining and I’m already looking forward to returning. Generous and delicious servings, polite and attentive waitstaff, with comfortable and spacious seating. My new favorite in Merrimack!

I left here extremely disappointed. The apps were amazing, but my waitress Julie left a very bad taste in my mouth. She started chatting with us and we were enjoying it at first until dinner arrived. Dinner was watery, no sauce was sticking to my pasta and I had pointed it out to Julie which she said she would have the cooks remake it for me. She proceeded to talk very loudly and poorly about us in the kitchen, with us right outside the door. The food was brought back the same way, just more sauce added but still extremely watery. No flavor in the food, it all tasted frozen, very bitter. She was also bashing other restaurants we visit, which we’ve never had a bad experience there but they were closed today so that’s the only reason we chose this restaurant to go to today. Avoid this place if you can, poor service and poor quality of food.

I ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer, and it was WONDERFUL. The Italian margarita was pretty good, too. The fresh bread was delicious. However, the main courses were disappointing. My Shrimp Fantasia had 5 huge shrimp, which was great, but the menu said it would have a creamy white wine sauce but there was no sauce (I’d believe it if you told me the pasta was cooked in a sauce, but there was nothing sauce-like to speak of on the plate) . The waitress said everything is made fresh daily, but my wife’s ravioli was anything but. Maybe it just wasn’t for us, but the meal started off stellar but kinda fell flat for us.

First time visiting Portofino’s. The eggplant was excellent. The bread and dipping sauce was great. Service was very good.

A local guide recommended this Italian restaurant and we finally went to see it. My way of figuring what is a good Italian restaurant is ordering their lasgna and tiramisu. So I went for it and ordered those. The lasgna was soft, fresh and delicious. Very close to what I have had in top Italian restaurants in Boston. The tiramisu, while it is not made at the restaurant and expected it to flop, I was pleasently surprised to that it was very fluffy, light and perfect sweetness. I don’t want to forget to mention the bread they brought to the table while waiting for the food which was also fresh, soft and warm. The bread was accompanied with garlicy olive oil and butter to please the different people at the table. The service was super courteous and attentive. I would recommend you to visit this little hidden gem in Merrimack and call ahead for a reservation. There is plenty of free parking and conveniently located in the center of town?

I’ve been to Italy many times. In my opinion, the food at Portifino is the real deal when it comes to authentic Italian food.
