Friends who live in the area brought us to Porter and Luke’s, and we were not sure what to expect. What we found was a pleasant local restaurant with excellent local choices. I had a delicious cup of shrimp gumbo, and my wife and I shared a big salad with a Creole dressing. It was more than satisfying

Amazing… This place is very underrated! Porter & Luke’s has a very homely environment that welcomes everyone. It is a must try for seafood lovers, especially oysters and soft shell crabs fanatics! The Hot Blue Crab Dip is a must try! Excellent food excellent service… Will definitely be going back soon.

Sat at the bar to place a to go order and enjoy a glass of wine. The bartender was very nice but way too busy for only 1 bartender. She forgot the order was to go and had to take it back to pkg. The atmosphere is very nice but extremely noisy/loud. The customer next to me warn me to make sure to check my order because they forget items all the time. Not the bar to go and have a nice relaxing cocktail. Good food. Gumbo was just ok. Needs at least 2 bar tenders and someone in charge of putting to go orders together for the bar tender.

We were looking forward to a different restaurant for Mother’s Day. We made reservations for 245pm and arrived at 225pm. I spoke with one of the chefs before entering, and he told us his recommendations. We were seated but never received any service. After sitting for 30 minutes with no interaction, we decided to leave. I told the hostess what happened, and she apologized, but there was no action to see what happened. What a disappointment

We got the Eggplant Sophie but subbed the eggplant for panéed chicken and it was fabulous. We also had the soft shell crab pontchartrain and the catfish platter. Everything was great.

Not impressed! The home potatoes and fries were pretty terrible (my kids agreed, no salt and so dry like cardboard). Probably one of my personal worst. Fish was ok but overpriced. My kid was served kids pasta and no Parmesan offered !!! liked the Tuna stack as the tuna looked and tasted fresh but the wontons it came with were super salty for some weird reason. Service was ok but she gave me a look when I pointed out that she gave me the wrong table bill. The ambience I hated!!! The lighting was like a business cantina during lunch hours, super bright and AC is freezing so better bundle up. $90 for one adult and three kids one glass of wine so be ready!

Good, friendly service. A lot of food for the price. Seafood gumbo was seasoned well. The crab dip was amazing. Three stars becauce it can get very noisy. The acoustics in the dinning room are lousy.

Had the red beans with ham hock.. The ham hock tested strange, like had a vinaiger/liquid smoke concentration in spots. The beans and rice were great..

Dined in for the Daily LUNCH Special Red Beans w Chicken Livers & Pepper Jelly…& Red Beans w/ Fried Pork Chop. The Lunch special Red Beans were GOOD, however could ha e been Served a little Hotter, must have been plated as awaiting frying the chicken livers & pork chop, lill disappointing…as the flavor of beans were terrific. As for the Chicken Livers, although plentiful, they were somewhat BiTTER, also NO Pepper Jelly was plated…they were fried perfectly. The Breaded Pork Chop was Amazingly tasty and hot & juicy. THE ENTIRE LUNCH EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. THE RESTROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN,HAD HOT WATER, SOAP & TOWELS. The Service Team was efficent, things came out of kitchen promptly once entirely plated…I would Return to this well known establishment.
