Located in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood, Porkland BBQ provides catering for large and small events as well as anything from box lunches for offices to buffet style meetings all over Kentuckiana. Porkland BBQ is a part of the non-profit Love City Inc. All proceeds from catering go back into the community. Love City also hosts a fundraising fish fry every Friday at the catering location to raise money for the programs it runs in the Portland neighborhood.

New hours are 11am-7pm Friday only. I had the fish sandwich, crinkle cut fries, mix of baked beans and macaroni & cheese. The portions were very good in size. Fish and fries were certainly cooked to order °°°°°/°°°° and the entire meal was served piping hot!

Amazing! I’m soooo happy I found this place. It’s simple, tummy-filling, and plentiful. And the kindness they offer folks willing to work for an hour in exchange for a meal is Compassion with a capital C. I didn’t get the “churched-up” tater tots, but I will next time. Oh, one more thing– the top 5 green beans I’ve ever had.

Had the fried cod sandwich with a side of baked beans. The fish was plentiful, as you can see the piece was huge. Great taste, fried to perfection. The beans were not bad, but I’m just not a huge fan of mixed beans. Overall, it was a good lunch and filling.

Always very clean. And staff are always very respectful and nice. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Also has a kid friendly environment in the building. My mother has the fish every Friday and she loves it. They also sell cookies and brownies that are delicious. A truly respected landmark of Portland.

Porkland BBQ has the best fish dinners. You get a huge piece of fried fish, two pieces of bread, two hush puppies, and whatever side you want. I recommend the onion rings. They are located in the back of St. Cecilia and very nicely decorated. My little one loved the bug and the flamingo. There is a wheelchair ramp. The inside is very spacious but seemed like most people took their food to go. The homemade chocolate chip cookies were melt in my mouth delicious. Very nice and speedy staff. Let me place an order online call for a later pickup time and everything was hot and ready when I got there. If your in the mood for great food and speedy service check out Porkland BBQ.

First-time customer. Was craving BBQ. I called to make sure that their ribs were pork. The gentleman on the phone said yes. I told him I will call back with an order. When I did, I asked again, are your ribs pork? He said yes. So I put a order in for rib tips, macaroni and cheese and baked beans. When I open my box, I was mad and disappointed. 1. The baked beans, that did not have a description on the menu, was a three-bean mix. 2. The ribs we’re beef, overcooked and dry. Burned around the edges. The restaurant was closed by the time I had my lunch break, so I couldn’t call.For them to be open only on Fridays, the food was below standard. Rest assured I will not be returning. you do get what you pay for.

Found this place by luck, it is literally a whole in the wall from the outside and wifey and I were skeptical, but the staff were inviting and the food, let’s just say you do not need the sauce on the ribs, they are very flavorful, the tots and pork, mouth watering, BBQ beans the best I have ever had, street corn is that sh..t. and from what I read they really give back to the community.
