One of the best fried chicken IMHO. We normally get mild, but we tried spicy on this visit because they were totally out of mild dark meat, ugh. They said they’re not making any mild dark meats. I felt they didn’t deserve 5 stars for that.

I was driving down the highway and decided to stop at this service plaza because I needed to get gas. I was running low on fuel both for the automobile and my belly. I got some chicken and fries and ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture first. Popeyes is Famous Louisiana Chicken.

The employees at this location are rude and no concern about travelers. They lack the discipline to work their entire shift and will close early refusing customers even 10 minutes before posted times, even when it is visually obvious they still have sellable products. This place services thousands of truck drivers most of who have no other options for food other than these service plazas and the places in them. These truckers often will then have to wait ten hours to move on somewhere else due to hours of see concerns. So when a crew decides to close early, especially when done in a disrespectful manor as was done tonight, the whole crew should be fired immediately as it was when I worked fast food.

Well, once again I have to leave money without being served at a plaza. I waited 20min while chatting with other customers until we noticed our order numbers had been skipped over? Not really sure but time is money, so I gave the young man next to me my receipt and told him to enjoy his meal….. eventually

They advertise this Popeyes location and it is located east bound on the Pa Turnpike; it’s close to the Somerset Exit but you have to drive 30-40 miles to exit the Pa Turnpike; it’s great for turnpike customers but not local community customers; it’s really not accessible

They were very busy with holiday travelers when we stopped in but I was perplexed because they seemed to be backed up by for no reason. They had plenty of chicken made, just sitting under the heat lamps waiting to get boxed up but somehow it took about 20 minutes.
