Today’s lunch spot: PoK-e-Jo’s! I usually get the two meat plate with brisket that comes with two sides and a Texas toast; this time, I selected pork ribs as my 2nd meat, green beans casserole and broccoli with cheese. As usual, the meat was tender and delicious, the staff were helpful and friendly. While dining, I also got the chance to compare the interior decoration of this location with other PoK-e-Jo’s… I got to admit the ceiling was definitely very Texan.

Delicious pork ribs, the best smoked chicken i ever had that cooked to perfection, juicy snd tender alike. Well kept no nonsense ambience located in a prime location. Courteous staff, self service, excellent food. This was my second time here and will visit again. Dont miss their pickled cucumber.!

Hubs and I came in for lunch. Rib meat slid off the bone and the brisket was tender. The food was also kept covered and warm which a lot of places don’t bother to do. Not a fan of cold BBQ so this place really stood out in that regard. The ladies at the counter were super sweet and brought freshly grilled Texas toast to the table. Probably the best place we’ve found in the area and we will definitely be back.

Really pretty good BBQ. All the meats and a nice selection of sides. And fresh Texas Toast instead of plain old bread is wonderful. There’s a small fixings bar with 2 kinds of onions, 2 kinds of pickles, and jalapenos. The banana pudding kind of looks like gravy but was quite tasty. They also have peach cobbler.

Pok-e-Jo’s is reliably good barbecue that is quick and easy to purchase at convenient locations. On this trip I purchased a large meal to feed a dozen people and it was perfect. The staff were polite and responded rapidly to our questions and requests for support items (like even more plates). I really appreciate their focus on ensuring my group had everything they needed to enjoy the delicious food.

Great place to have BBQ. Great for grabbing lunch. Their ribs & chicken were very good. We got 2 kids meal and my kids devour it. The beans lacked flavor, but by then all the sides we got were good. Great customer service. I would definitely go back to eat there.

Very tasty BBQ and all the side dishes are very good as well. The Brisket, Chicken, Turkey and pulled pork was delicious. Highly recommended. We will be going back for sure.

Love the brisket and sausage. Also has the best sides. Jalapeno cornbread and the loaded mashed potatoes are always best

Pokeys has been known around Austin for some time as reliable Texas BBQ at a decent price but also a place where you don’t have to wait hours in line. They especially set themselves apart in their selection of fresh hot and cold sides. I like the corn caserole, green bean caserole, broccoli salad, and of course the cobblers!
