Loved the atmosphere, food and presentation. The fried catfish had a unique delicious coating, cooked perfectly. They offer cornbread or hushpuppies with your meal. The entire staff looked cheerful and we had such a pleasant meal.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. My blackened fish, macaroni, sweet potatoes, and hush puppies were very good. My fried chicken was bland and lacked seasoning. If I happened to be in Portland and in that area again, I would return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ruby greeted us and was our waiter. Super nice. I had the pulled pork with hushpuppies w/red beans & rice on the side. Also had a piece of sweet potato pie for dessert. Not pictured but it was super dank. 10/10 would recommend.

This was one of my last stops while on my trip in Portland. I realized I went to a bunch of restaurants but didn’t patron a Black Owned. The reviews were promising. However, once there some food items weren’t available like their sweet potatoes. I ordered fried cat fish with fries and cornbread( I received an extra one which I am assuming was because they ran out of the side I wanted) that was kind of the waitress. However, I was disappointed in both the catfish and cornbread. The catfish was fried to perfection but lacking flavor and the cornbread was dry and bland.

This place is amazing!!! Love the family owned business, the history, the amazing and hospitable folks who work there, and of course, the food. I had just about the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve eaten SO many waffles in my day. Once you’ve had one bite you will not want to stop eating. The chicken was also cooked to absolute perfection. 100/10 would come back.

Ok. It usually takes alot for me to review a place. I give a place one time to rip me off. Po Shines just used their one time up. I have been craving peach cobbler over the last few days. I have eaten here before but its been a minute. Well, i am disappointed in the peach cobbler i bought. The main two reasons is the portion size and the price. It was $9 for a single serving. I might as well bought a whole pie somewhere else. I’m mad at myself for not looking at the price before i drove to the other side of Portland or i wouldn’t have. The server tried to justify it by saying it was homemade. Well, so. Not worth the money. It tastes ok but i feel cheated out of the amount of food i got. I would say its worth between 4 and 6 bucks. Buy at your own discretion.

Oh my goodness! I loved this place. This was our first visit to Po’ Shines, and I enjoyed everything about it. We went for lunch. It was, maybe, half full of customers. We were greeted immediately and given menus and told to sit wherever to decide what we wanted and to order at the counter.

Absolutely delicious. Came here to celebrate MLK day with my friend and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back and making it as regular place to eat. Staff was so nice to and the ribs were out of this world.

Best soul food I’ve had in so long! This jaunt SLAPS. I got the chicken & waffles (had 5 wings but I ate 3 before I got home) the chicken was so crispy, waffles were phenomenal and idk if it was coincidence that the plate was being plated when I showed up or they waited until I arrived but either way, amazing.
