Playa Ocho is the real deal. Wonderful experience. The food was amazing. the drinks were awesome. Looks like live music every Friday upstairs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the Marine Barracks for an afterward drink or snack.

I have only given one 1 star review, d today is the second time. Playa Ocho was such a disappointment. The waiter activity ignored us. We had to go inside and asked for a menu after he waited on 4 tables who came after us and then he refused to take our order or even acknowledge us. We had to ask to get 2 frozen margaritas which were insanely sweet and cost $26. When we watched multiple orders ahead of us. We had to go inside to pay of our over priced terrible margaritas. Short staffing is and issue and we are patient and tip 25-30%, but actively being ignored is terrible service and not worth going back. Management didn’t care that we had to go inside and pay so we could actually leave and go somewhere else to actually be able to eat. There is a reason this place is 3 stars. This street has amazing options, we found other places also short staffed where they were still happy to serve us food. Don’t waste your time, if you have a bad experience management does not care.

Along Barracks Row is a spacious restaurant with a rooftop that goes through Mexican restaurants. They open, close, and a new same concept moves in.

Truly one of the best margaritas in DC, specially the Cadillac Margarita. Oh and the guacamole is to die for. Loved the cute little decors, the place is such a vibe!

Great outdoor patio vibes on the second level. However, the service was pretty awful. After 10-15 minutes, server never came to our table, despite walking by several times. I walked to the bar to ask if we should order there. Bartender was very rude and told me to keep waiting. We did finally get drinks and they were not great. We were also asked to leave right at closing time despite being fully tabbed out, still finishing our drinks, and other tables still hanging out. Won’t be returning.

I enjoy this spot. It’s a great spot to come alone or bring a few friends to. The staff provide good service and the food is good. I like the nachos. Honestly this is a solid spot that never disappoints. Shout out to the manager Aubrey.

Wanted to sit upstairs but was incredibly loud. I am partially disabled so was not going to go back down the stairs right away. $12 cheese dip, mules that are not very strong, and waiter forgot sides. Maybe due to being insanely loud like a club. Only two other guest were upstairs at the time. Food was good but maybe not for the money.

Came in for brunch at 11. We were the only customers, we sat ourselves, waited for menus, waited for water, waited for service. We had the chips and guacamole which was a mashed mush, chicken tacos missing the toppings, a Cobb salad with the wrong dressing, and a breakfast burrito. This burrito was a soggy mess, filled with cheese and rice. No flavor, no texture, and disgusting. The service was slow, even though there were 5 staff members doing nothing (besides eating behind the bar). 40 minutes for our food to come out.

Stopped by when they first opened for happy hour. Outdoor seating perfect but the drink which was a classic margarita terrible and the guacamole terrible. Nothing screamed Mexican authenticity. The happy hour prices were pretty cool so I will say just get shots to play it safe. The guacamole was $15 bucks and please save your money. I will not recommend for food at all just happy hour and avoid the mix drinks
