I placed an order tonight on DoorDash and it was confirmed at 8:35pm. A dasher went to the store to get my order by 8:40. The person turned him away and cancelled my order with 25 minutes left before they close.

I am a food delivery driver and I went to pick up an order Sunday 8/13/23 and I went up to the counter and one girl was on her phone scrolling social media and the other girl was taking selfies of herself holding a drink. Im trying to get their attention to ask for the order finally someone looks up and of course the order isn’t ready not even started!! These girls were very unprofessional and too into their phones!! As a delivery driver time is money we have multiple orders to pick up and if your employees are on their phones taking selfies instead of working something needs to be done about that! Maybe no phones while at work???

I don’t normally write reviews but after several bad experiences here I decided I had to. Let me start with saying that the men that work here have been great with customer service and product, every experience with them has been great and the bowls turn out beautiful. However, almost every girl I’ve had to deal with here has either had a nasty attitude and/or messed up my order. Every other time I go they miss items that I have paid extra for and give me an attitude when I come back to ask for said missing items. Unfortunately there is not another location close to me otherwise I would not come back to this location again.

Playa Bowl is easily my favorite acai establishment up and down the east coast. The fruit is fresh, their acai is not icy or overpowered by other flavors, the granola is absolutely delicious and they use enough to get a little in every bite and the prices are just right. I’m sad we don’t have a Playa Bowl in the DMV because it really blows all these other places out of the water with the selection and offerings. I stop by everytime I am in the area!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that my bowl was complimentary on Veterans day due to my Veteran status. The staff was friendly and outgoing. They made me feel comfortable and appreciated. What more can you ask for? It was a special day for me and they made me feel special on a rainy day. Great bunch of teenagers. Very respectful. They all got along with each other well. Due to the heavy rain I was there long enough to see a shift change. Every one appeared to like their job which made for a great atmosphere. They even have a Ping Pong table, which I think was a great idea. Now some of these younger kids had somewhere to meet even though the weather was less than ideal. Actually as I am writing this, it’s making me feel compelled to take my kids there for a healthy snack and a ping pong game. Thanks for hiring a great friendly staff. I think as the weather gets colder more businesses should give the kids somewhere to go and keep themselves out of trouble.

I get a bowl or smoothie from here a couple times a month with my co-workers. Today my bowl was soup consistency and missing toppings. Most of the female employees attitudes are awful and not friendly always especially today. I’ll be going to Smoothie King.

Ordered two açaí bowls to go. The proportion of açaí to granola was basically 1:1, where it used to be closer to 2:1. Asked for extra strawberries as got less than I normally would get. I used to frequent Playa Bowls on a regular basis, but over the years they have started to skimp on their toppings. Might just start making my own at home, I could probably do better.
