The Playa Azul serves some of the finest Mexican food in the area. I have ate here often and other than when I was growing and eating fresh homemade Mexican food. Which was prepared by my friends momma. I don’t think I have tasted better. This place is friendly and courteous and got some really good chefs. People who work there know what Mexican cooking is all about. The food is loaded full of flavor. And most of it is prepared while you wait. Their menu is priced affordable. You can dine in or take out. I have found nothing on their menu that I have ever disliked. Great down home cooking. But I will say if you’re looking for just a small meal you better come with a big appetite cuz they serve a lot of food for what you pay for. I can’t ever remember not asking for a to go box. if you’re in Rupert Idaho and you want great Spanish cooking this is a must restaurant.

I showed up 45 before closing time and the Emmanuel said sorry we are closed. I’ve heard many times from friends that they usually close and open whenever the want. After mentioning that we called in advance to find out there closing time, they sat us down. We asked for two drinks and Emmanuel said I can do whatever I want. And since I run this place, I don’t feel like making your drinks. We thought he was joking until his bad attitude continued. We finally decided this place is no longer the same after the new owners.

Playa Azul is a great and pleasant experience great food and great customer service! If the owner knows you expect jokes laughs and pure entertainment. What u see as rude and poor service is simply a joke remember life is short so why be serious about everything take the laughs and jokes no restaurant is there to kiss ur ass .

Went in there 3 hours before their google posted closing time, the door said they closed 1 hour after I arrived yet staff had closed everything up and was leaving. I will be going somewhere else and after reading other peoples reviews unless they make changes I won’t come back.
