I’m in love. The minute I walked in, I knew something about this place is different. Then I saw the menu. I was taken aback. Many independent pizza places are just clones of each other. Sloppy quality, rubbery cheese, not many options for appetizers and entrees.. no, Pizza Ranchini has an extensive menu that is unique and the quality is untouchable by some of the other local pizza restaurants.

Horrible customer service. I ordered at 6:10 and the food arrived at 8:20. I called after an hour and was told they were waiting for the driver to return and our order would be 25 to 30 minutes more. It was still another hour. The food was barely warm and my calzone was missing. Called back and they said the driver would check his bag and deliver IF he found it in the bag. No offer of refund of money or coupon for next order. We have ordered from them before and everything was good. I am very disappointed in this lack of service.

I have ordered from here quite a few times but this is THE LAST TIME I’ll be ordering from here! I ordered an extra large, 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 ham and pineapple. Pretty simple, but no. I get home and it’s 1/2 plain and the other half ham pineapple and pepperoni. They’ve screwed up before but I’ve been forgiving, but not anymore. Be smart and check your order before you leave!

I order from here once a week cause it’s the only non-franchise place that will deliver. Their best pizza is the giant one. For some reason it just cooks a certain way and manages to taste a little like it’s from a NY joint. Any other pizza is just your average Pittsburgh pizza- Not bad/not anything to call home about. Salads are good. Always fresh and topped generously. Most of the appetizers are okay. I get buffalo fries with the cheese and sauce on the side so they stay crunchy. Strombolis and wedges are great. Calzones are okay. The wings are pretty good. They have the jumbo wings and they are deep-fried proper. So all in all, this isn’t a mind-blowing shop, but they rarely mess up an order, delivery is quick and friendly, prices are standard, and the food is satisfying. A safe bet. 3 1/2 Stars.

Never order from this place on a weekend. Or a week night. Your order will take over an hour to be delivered and in my experience, be missing parts of the order. I ordered a hoagie and an order of fries on a weekend. It took them 90 minutes to deliver it and they forgot the fries. The food was cold, as if it had been waiting about twenty minutes while they delivered other orders first. When I called the manager to complain about my missing fries, I was told they were too busy to do anything and hung up.

Have ordered many times from here with no problem. We were in a bit of a hurry tonight so I ordered online for pick up. I got a notice after ordering that they were backed up and it would be 40 minutes for the order. When I showed up 45 minutes later the order had not even been started and they blamed it on the tablet that they use for online order . They said they would make it but it would be at least 25 minutes, and no odder to make the mistake better, and then the cashier walked out. Thankfully Slice, the online ordering service they use, was willing 5o cancel amd refund my order. Unfortunately the restaurant itself doesn’t seem to know what customer service is. Doubtful that we will ever go back, even though we are only a few blocks away.

Really like their pizza, especially the chicken ranchero, but it’s ridiculous to have to wait 90 minutes for it to be delivered. The last two times I ordered (a Saturday and a Wednesday), I had to call to see where our pizza was after waiting an hour and both times “we got a little backed up but it’s on its way” was the canned response. 20-30 minutes later, it finally arrives, somewhat warm.

Not real clean. Ordered a medium and a large pizza as well as some other items. Pizza dough between sizes didn’t look or taste the same. Way too much cheese on the bread sticks, prevented the dough from cooking. Based on the cleanliness alone I would not recommend or go back again.

Had an interesting encounter with this place this evening. First I called in and was given an exorbitant price for my food. I’m guessing it was due to the new guy answering the phone. So, I placed my order on their internet site. Significantly cheaper. Then the real problem happened. My order showed up incorrect. I called in to have them correct it and was offered $1 off my next order. No thanks. Then I tried the food. If you enjoy cardboard tasting hoagies this is the place for you. If you want crappy, overcooked wings, order from this place. Never again.

The pizza is always good, but everything else is hit or miss. We order from them a lot, and have had a lot of not so great experiences – from the delivery driver dropping our pizza and deciding not to mention it, to receiving the wrong pizza after waiting 90 minutes, stuff like that. Finally decided to write a review about it today when I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and got something that was clearly not a Caesar – looked like they just put Parmesan cheese on a garden salad that tasted like it had been assembled a couple of days ago. Greens were slightly wilted, tomatoes were mushy (and who puts tomatoes in a Caesar??) and it was covered with some seriously stinky onion slices. Chicken was gummy and had obviously been frozen. I might order pizza from them again but definitely no more salads.
