Their food is as good as my grandmother’s homemade southern cuisine. The mac and cheese melts in your mouth while the fried chicken is the best I’ve ever had. They’re chicken’n dumplings are homemade authentic comfort food. Always stop on my way to Myrtle Beach and on my way back to visit this mouth-watering delicacy of Southern cuisine.

Country home cooking made momma’s way. Local diner opened Sunday-Friday 1030am-3pm in the heart of downtown Conway. Simple open floor plan with padded chairs and tables that seemed to fill as fast as they emptied. Menu offers the usual sandwiches, salads, burgers and wraps, but their mainstay is a choice of a meat and sides. Featured on a large chalkboard, choices do change daily, is a selection of meats and a wide variety of southern style fixings. My choice was the Chicken Fried Steak and my two sides mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. My chicken fried steak was an ample size chicken breast fried and flavorful. A tad bit dry but nothing like a good slathering of white gravy couldn’t fix. I loved the homestyle mashed potatoes that were chunky with the skins mashed in, didn’t even bother with the brown gravy on the side, the creamy mac and cheese and the small tease of cornbread. Cornbread was moist, not the usual coarse, bland cornbread so commonly found on menus. Service was friendly and efficient. Servings were plentiful and cost more than acceptable. Nothing brings you faster to the table than made from scratch, down home cooking.

This was my first time eating here and honestly only came here because I had less than an hour before I had to go back to jury duty and the crafty rooster was closed. I’m so glad I did and stumbled upon this little restaurant! The lunch special of fried chicken with mash, gravy, onions and mushrooms was delicious. The cornbread and Mac and cheese were both a bit meh but the atmosphere and service was wonderful. It’s the kind of cozy little place where you go and feel right at home like you’re sitting right in grandmas kitchen. I will definitely be back

Best lunch within the City limits of (Downtown) Conway! The only reason I’m not rating 5 stars is because of the loud atmosphere and overall accommodations, but the only way to fix that is to move to a larger space. The demand was so great it outgrew the establishment. Most bang for your buck!! Kid friendly too! Green bean casserole, mac n cheese, and chicken club was fantastic! We will be back soon, thank you

We came in town to purchase a car and the dealership told us to try the Pickled Cucumber. I am so glad he did because it was delicious. They give you a small appetizer of pickled cucumbers. My husband ordered some fried pickles because he loves them. We ordered the country fried steak, country fried chicken, mac n cheese, okra, broccoli and rice casserole, collards and cornbread. Everything was hot and tasty. The okra was perfect. Our waitress was awesome. They were very busy but she kept checking back with us making sure we had drink refills. The chicken and gravy were tender and flavorful. We will definitely go back when we are in Conway.
