Good food at reasonable prices. Staff speak broken English but very accommodating. Try the tropical ice tea with fruit. Sooooooo delicious. The orange fish also is wonderful. Shrimp friend rice also a favorite. They also have a beef dish that’s pretty good too.

Phoenix Inn, one of the most storied restaurants in L.A. Chinatown. Truly Great food and friendly service. Huge portions. Nothing fancy, 60s decor. No site of Katai Chang and his wife, May Chang, But they’d probably be well into their hundreds if still alive. Real treat to visit The most successful Chinese restaurant empire in LA.

A few of us in our party either hadn’t had Chinese in a long time or were picky when it comes to Chinese cuisine. So if you’re that kind of group and looking to experience authentic non-fast food Chinese cuisine, this is the place! We all enjoyed our meal. Recommend the sweet and sour pork, sausage fried rice, and Korean style beef haha. Nice staff!

Fantastic food. Highly recommend the seafood, especially the Stir Fried Udon with seafood and the Thai Style Seafood Noodle Soup, both of which were excellent

This is the original restaurant and the ONLY Phoenix that I like the most for several reasons – the food that only this restaurant has, the servers only this restaurant employed, the chef only this restaurant has. Ask for their only specialty and you will very soon find out why they are the best! I hope you enjoy their food as much as we have. We have frequent this particular restaurant for over ten years and we are NOT tired of it.

Great place for solid Chinese food. Wish their hot sauce was spicier though.

Horribly rude host. He didn’t ask a few questions that may have made our initial experience pleasurable (dining in, spicy, tea). He yelled, “No tip,” 3 times while I signed my receipt. We watched him bring another patron tea and bring her food to her table while our food was left to come fetch from a random table. The bill was approximately $75 for 4 dinner plates with NO rice, NO soup, NO tea, & NO cookie. My vegetable plate was full of mushrooms and 3 small pieces of carrots and broccoli. Perhaps dining in would be a better option. However, the service was so horrible, we will not return to find out.

I ORDERED A FEW DIFFERENT PLATE TO SHARE FOR A FAMILY DINNER, AND WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED. EVERYTHING THAT WE ORDERED DID NOT TASTE AS IT USED TO. MONGOLIAN BEEF HAD MAYBE 4 PIECES OF GREEN ONIONS, GREEN BEANS WERE BLAN. WE ORDERED 2 ORDERS OF WALNUT SHRIMP…. IT WAS DEEP FRIED( REMINDS ME OF SMALL CORN DOGS) AND BURNT. WE SPENT $200 AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT THIS WAS NOT EVEN WORTH IT. WE WONT COME BACK HERE AGAIN AND ITS SAD TO SAY BECAUSE WE’VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS.
