Pho Ca Dao is a traditional, authentic Vietnamese restaurant serving high-quality foods. Founded in 2001 by the Huynh family. We pride ourselves in creating each dish with our genuine love and passion for Vietnamese cuisine that stems from our strong family values. The word Ca Dao in Pho Ca Dao means folk songs, a cultural tradition that’s been passed down from one generation to the next; similar to pho, a traditional Vietnamese fare that has stood the test of time. We continue to preserve the authenticity of the Vietnamese recipes that also encourages a healthier way of eating. PCD & Grill: family-oriented ambiance to a fun social gathering while serving quality comfort food, topped off with beers on tap and wines.

Someone put a lot of effort into the decorations and it was sparkling clean. Huge patio, lots of TVs, cute robot busboys, rice wine cocktails. We ordered veggie fresh rolls, veg pho, fried rice, and crispy tofu. The food tasted fresh and healthy, but a bit under seasoned for our taste. Waitress was very nice.

We were happy to come and try this location as it just opened not too long ago. We tried a few pho restaurants in the north county area, but have never been happy or impressed with the food. I grew up eating at Pho Hoa on El Cajon Blvd, which I feel is the most authentic. Since I have moved many times I have not been there in years, but crave to find that 1 restaurant. This is better than any of the other restaurants I have found in North County. This is part of a chain, so the food is comparable to the other locations. The food seems to be a bigger portion, but the price also reflects that. I don’t think I have ever paid so much for a plate at any pho restaurant. Maybe due to COVID? Anyway, it ranges from $13 – $15 a plate without the cost of add ons. The inside of this location does not match the outside. The inside is very clean and with modern decoration. The outside location is run down and there were homeless on sitting at the other end of the building. As far as service, it is the traditional pho restaurant service. They do not engage in small talk, just want to get your order and get you in and out. Think of it as a fast-food restaurant with a restaurant setting. Then you won’t be disappointed in the service because your expectations will be different.

This is our go to pho spot completely delicious. You must get the lemongrass beef pho. It will change your life! Nice new restaurant with friendly service. The kids always love the fish tank in the robots that bring out your food.

This place was great. The pork buns that looked like tacos were great! The pho was also delicious. Their menu had me curious about foods I never would have tried. The wait staff was attentive. Nice little bar, Sapporo on tap. Walked away with dinner 4 2 and a beer for $30. Hasn’t happened in a while. The little robot was cute but not really very useful when there was so many people working. Actually want to go back soon!

Not sure if the other Pho Ca Dao locations have upped their menu, but this Escondido branch has some different regional specialties and unique offerings that we’ll have to come back to try! We had the shortrib pho and Oxtail pho, which both also had rare steak included too. The meat was so tender and juicy, and the broth was oily, flavorful and comforting.
