I love coming here because they open at 10am meanwhile other places open later around 11am. Opening an hour earlier really does make a difference especially when I need to leave town early in the morning. I grab a quick bite from here and can be on the road by or even before lunch traffic hits. Every time I come here I order the broth hu tieu and depending on my mood, I eat whatever type of noodles. Normally I order the combo of clear rice and egg noodles. Some days I rather the thin egg noodles over the thick or vice versa. I like them all. The broth is always fresh and tastes flavorful. They are also generous with their protein, but their veggies have not been great. The bean sprouts were not fresh and had a slimy layer on them. However I love their pickled peppers they keep at the table with the other condiments. It’s so spicy and adds just the right amount of kick in the broth. I like to eat them after a few bites because it really does make a difference. Overall, this is a good spot for hu tieu! Fast, reasonably priced, and good service!

The hu tieu noodles here are fantastic. This noodle dish can be ordered dry (it comes with a small bowl of broth on the side) or the noodles in the broth (pork bone base). I prefer the noodle soup version as the broth itself is so delicious. In the bowl comes all sorts of goodness – pork cracklings, ground pork, fried shallots, dried shrimp, green onions, cilantro, pork livers, sliced pork, pork ribs, and shrimp. The veggie garnish consists of lettuce leaves, bean sprouts, serranos peppers, and lime wedges.

The noodle is more of Chinese Sachew or Chui Chow style with pork meat, liver and shrimp. The broth is savory full of umami flavor. The rice noodle was nice soft and chewy. The noodle and soup tasted good, the only thing I did not like was the dried shrimp they put in the noodle soup. The strong dried shrimp kind of over power the other flavor. So, I usually ask them not to put it in my soup.

food was good, portion is a little small compared to what you could get at some other part of town. i blame it on Katy’s taxes i guess. the soup was tasty, the amount of meat is ok. the server was ok, but the food is brought out by the kitchen staff and he still had chopped cilantro on his hand and basically tossed our bowls without a word. not a good attitude and/or hygiene.

Same complaint as before with this and the other location. Unsanitary! No wonder I had gotten food poisoning at the bellaire location. This one is just as bad! Found not just 1 but 2 gnats on 2 slices of lettuce they brought out to me. Like how much work is it to wash your veggies before providing it to your customer to put into their food. If they don’t check that imagine what theyre probably cooking into their food that you don’t see!

Love this place! Always been going to the one in Bellaire but now the Katy location has opened so this is the once we go to. I enjoy the dry dish, i have tried all the various combos and enjoy them all. This place is all noodle related so if you like noodle type meals from the flat, thin, thick, clear, egg noodle and etc, try it out. They take Credit card as well. Parking is great and ample. Clean place, fast service and good service every time so far. Been here with family and friends.
