This place is indeed petite, but the charm, friendliness, and coffee are top-notch. This is my haven (though it’s often quite busy). I haven’t tried much of the foods but the pastries I’ve tried have been good and the cookies are excellent. Also I always feel so welcome and appreciated here. This is my favorite place in Winterset.

What a gorgeous little place! We stopped by just after closing time but the owner (I didn’t get her name) let us in anyway. She made us the BEST chicken salad wraps and my husband drank a WHOLE cup of coffee – he usually drinks 1/3 to 1/2 cup at home. We got 4 giant chocolate chip caramel cookies to go and those were aaaahhhmazing! Can I get those shipped to my home??!?? She was so welcoming and generous. Definitely an asset to this quaint little town! If I lived closer, I’d be a regular customer there.

I recommend everything! Cute location, caring staff! My favorites have been maple cinnamon latte and now the cherry bomb latte. Also, I love the iced latte (lavender)!! The food is amazing as well! Love the salads, pastries, soups, and wraps. Husband said the same and also recommends the London Fog drink. I wish I could go before work, but now they open at 8am. So I try and get in on Saturdays!

Finally got to stop in and was treated to a delicious and strong cold brew and a savory ham, cheese, and rosemary scone. The barista was very kind and happily took my order as well as explained the different types of pastry flavors.

My bestest employee Kelli brought me a salad from Petite Cafe today and it was probably one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Not sure what it was called but it had spinach, feta, walnuts, blueberries, onions with a poppy seed dressing and was amazing!! Super filling and refreshing with the perfect balance of sweet, saltiness and crunch. Everything I’ve had from here is A+ simple and delicious.
