My wife and I stopped here for breakfast after having an absolute out of this world haircut experience with Eric Ballard at E-Class Barbering Inc. located at 215 State Street, Binghamton, NY! We were going to go to our regular place- Chris’ Dinner but they are closed on Mondays. Thus, we used Google Maps to review diners and narrowed our list down to three diners in the Vestal area and wound up choosing Pete’s Legacy Diner. The owner, Pete immediately greeted us upon entering with a genuine smile and we were immediately seated. Their menu is simple and unique in how it is posted. Camille, our server was absolutely awesome! Camille was especially courteous, considerate, professional, pleasant, and very cheerful. She greeted us with a big smile and welcoming demeanor. Camille was happy to help and she “Wowed” us with her spectacular customer service skills and very warm personality! She took the time to explain a few things about the diner and how it operates. For breakfast we both ordered Greek Omelettes: Tomato, Spinach, and Feta Cheese with toast, homefries, and two coffees. The food was delicious and we had nothing left to take home. The coffee was even good and we had two cups and even asked about the brand. They even prepare their desserts in house which looked really good as well. We especially liked that the owner purchases a lot of products from local providers in the South Tier of New York. We now have a new diner spot to support coupled with great meals and service. It was really a pleasure to come here and have such a great and refreshing experience… Kudos to Pete and Camille!

My first time trying this diner and we had an great experience! Even though there was a line ahead of us when we came in – the wait was short. Our waitress was awesome and super friendly! I got the Greek Omelette with bacon added

This is a very cute New York style Diner there was absolutely no wait to get seated and the atmosphere was family friendly and oriented but everyone had their own booth so there was also a comfortable space for privacy. The food was great and to us in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Parking is free and they take both cash and credit cards.

I came here once years ago with my dad (before the pandemic) and we loved it, and now finally made it back, and it was another great meal. I think I had an omelet last time, this time I had the Fried Haddock Platter. They let me sub potato salad for fries at no cost. The food was very good and the portions were generous. I especially liked all the herbs in the potato salad! For dessert this time, I had a slice of pumpkin cheesecake – this was amazing, easily rivalling cheesecake I’ve had at much more upscale restaurants. It had carrot cake as a crust which was really cool! My dad had the Bavarian chocolate cheesecake (layers of cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and chocolate cake) which I tasted and was also very very impressed with. I remember that I had the Rice Pudding on my last visit and it was delightful (although not as decadent as the cakes).

Tables are tight for a big guy but the food was great and the prices fair. The ownership is religious and it shows in the decor. If you are an intolerant type you should probably go someplace else. I am not religious and I enjoyed my visit and the excellent service.

We came to Pete’s in august 10th after a nerve conduction. When we came in you could see how outdated the dining area was. No one greeted us. We waited and finally was seated. We both ordered the same meal which were bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches with home fries of course. As we received our meal as we began to eat we observed a waitress eating by the soda fountain, a cook joined her and had a refreshing beverage in plain view of customers. We ate two bites of our food and immediately asked for the check after watching a 3rd employee snacking in the serving window over time where he was placing peoples orders. Out of the 3 eating not one of them washed their hands. When we got our check we met with Pete the owner to take our slip and take our money. We paid for 2 meals that was not edible due to what was viewed. Pete put his head down and didn’t even try to cover for himself or for his employees.
