There’s writing inside on the chalk board that says “go woke, go broke”. Unfortunately, you will also go broke when you plaster your illogical, bigoted beliefs as a huge welcome sign. We stopped by because we were looking for a good spot to eat on our visit to Vashon and Perry’s seemed promising. I should have known from the second we started up the path to the door when we saw their vandalized American flag on display that this is not a place we’d want to take our business. A whiteboard in the window says “Jesus loves you”, but once you step foot inside, the absence of Christ-like love is palpable. Written on the chalkboard in big writing is some of the most idiotic, hateful remarks. Now, I could have ignored this on a community chalkboard where everyone is allowed to share their thoughts, but the fact that this chalkboard is hanging above the order window lets me know that these are intentional messages from the owner or employees. I come from a red state, so I am more than used to seeing messages I don’t agree with, and have even patronized businesses that I know are owned by those who believe differently than me, and I am not easily offended. However, I was absolutely appalled by what I saw today. At the very least, please stop taking the Lord’s name in vain. You do not represent Jesus. Jesus loves all and God did not send him to earth to condemn (John 3:17), so I’m pretty sure He didn’t send y’all to. I hope you’ll reconsider how you represent yourselves, Christ, and Vashon Island. Conservatism is one thing…bigotry and hate is another.

The only thing wrong with my burger was that I didn’t order a second one! IT WAS SO GOOD! Flavorful and not too salty, it was full of fixin’s but not too sloppy to eat in the car. Onion rings were perfect. You know when you get onion rings and you bite into then and all the slimy onion pulls out and it slaps you in the chin? Yeah, these don’t do that! They weren’t oily or greasy. They were fried perfectly! The place is small inside, but you’re not eating the restaurant, so don’t worry about it. The lovely lady at the counter was friendly and just SO very nice. I never get to come out to the island much anymore, but I know I’m going to make a point of stopping by at Perry’s any time I can!

Came to the island for work, wanted a burger from a mom and pop shop. Came in and saw far right politics blasted all over the walls. It didn’t bother me but can understand if it’s disturbing to others. The burger was smaller but very delicious. Fries was good too. Owner was respectful. Would come back again.

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I had a great time chatting with the owner while I waited for my food. The fries are perfect too. I see others writing reviews that aren’t relevant to the food served here. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech and you don’t have to agree but can respect the first amendment!

We saw the “Jesus loves you sign” and were excited to try this place out but then we saw the infamous chalkboard and had to leave before Perry tried to “un-woke” us. He defaced the American flag outside his shop but says liberals are the un-American ones. Its a shame to see a once thriving business fall into despair thanks to hateful, far-right bigotry.

Stopped in today and picked up some burgers for the family. Everyone loved it! It’s a drive-in smash style burger with a ton of flavor. Everyone seems to be giving this place one star reviews because the political views the owner has and saying that they feel unsafe, dropping words like bigot and racist.. I don’t really get it, I’m asian and I felt perfectly fine. I just went in for the food though, I guess some people go to burger places for the politics. ♂️

Been here a few times whenever I’m on the island. I came in last week and the owner just started going off about how he hates transgenders. I just wanted my food. Instead I got a lecture about his view on politics. Never coming back here.

As a teacher, no burger is good enough for me to ignore the sign that reads “teachers who teach woke are pedophiles”. For sure the first amendment protects this business from government persecution, but that doesn’t mean that I have to ignore the very loud politics surrounding me in order to get fast food.
