Best schnitzel I’ve had outside of central Europe. The sauerkraut was good, the potatoes were great. Ate on the patio a couple of times during the GoPro games and it was an excellent spot to watch the crowds. The bar is nice and the wall of photos is impressive. Brought my wife here when she arrived. We understand Pepi is a legendary figure in Vail history. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Spend the day in Vail Village, and Pepi’s was recommended for lunch by a friend who is from Hungary. The cuzine is authentic European, and the establishment has been in business since the 1960’s. I went with the Buffalo Bratwurst, which came with mashed potatoes, red cabbage, and saerkraut; paired with a Liter of dark German lager. Apple Strudel with a cappicuno for desert completed the meal. Had a seat on the patio to dine and people watch. Great place to visit on the list of things to do when in Vail.

We ordered chicken wings to-go from Pepi’s bar tonight, after seeing a review about how good they were, but I wanted to even out that good review with this one—the wings were terrible. It’s 2 stars instead of 1, because they were fast (5 minutes) on a busy Monday night. The wings were breaded and squishy, the sauce was terrible, the quality wasn’t there. The vibes in the bar were nice though, with live music — it’s definitely more of a drinks only type of place. The waitstaff was excellent also.

This is a great place to go for wild game meats at Vail. I sat in the antlers room and ordered the wilddieb platter. The platter contained roasted quail, wild boar, and elk loin all served over a variety of sauces and rice. The meal also came with half a pear, asparagus, and red cabbage. It was all well prepared and tasted delicious. The food is a a bit pricey, but definitely well worth it. The staff and service was also good and I enjoyed the german rustic atmosphere. If you’re not into wild game, there’s a a separate dining room and bar area with live music. There’s something at this restaurant for everyone and it has my full recommendation.

I had lunch twice at Pepi’s. Had the regular schnitzel and it was very good. I will try the jagerschizel next time. I also had the Buffalo bratwurst. It was excellent. It had great flavor was moist and lean. The sides were top notch.

Nice peaceful lunch spot in Vail Village. Great patio and the food was delicious. The Beet salad was fresh and amazing, our other dishes were fantastic also. Great service. Good find!

Iconic Vail restaurant didn’t disappoint. Wonderfully prepared and presented food at surprisingly good prices at the heart of Vail Village. Cozy, authentic Austrian atmosphere in the main dining rooms. This place is worthy of its fame. Highly recommended!
