If you love good Chinese food, Pei Wei is NOT the place for you. I had bourbon chicken, and not only was it bad Chinese food, it was just plain bad food. Didn’t have that “clean” fresh taste…in fact the predominant taste was salty and bitter…too much soy sauce? Anyway, it was so bad I didn’t finish the dish. The drink selection was pitiful…green tea, sweet tea and a bunch of sodas…chemicals from a dispenser sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. This was a pricey lunch, too: $16 and change. DEFINITELY not worth it. My friend had a different dish but also felt the food tasted sort of rancid and too salty. Even the restaurant itself was not comfortable…food trash or something on the floor by our booth, and very dark, except for the blinding glare from the sun on cars in the parking lot. First visit to this place, and last. I do want to mention, this isn’t the waitstaff’s fault, unless you count them not keeping the floor clean and not mitigating the sun’s glare by lowering the sunshades, as it seemed they may have had some—personally, I could not really see if there were or not because of that sun.

Pei Wei is a hidden fast food restaurant secret. They are very tasty and cooked right there on the spot. They are the same price as Panda Express but taste, flavor, and all around great than your average fast food Chinese place. They make it as you order it so the food is not prepared and sitting like you get at Panda or mall Chinese food. I say go to Pei Wei and experience it for yourself. Your gonna be surprised by it. Great food for your buck. I would say at those other places they def put lots of food on your plate but the food isn’t that great. It’s nice to over look that knowing your going to get a quality meal somewhere.

Prices have spiked up and quality, quantity has gone down. The dishes and recipes keep changing, but not in a good way. I used to like Pei Wei as a place for clean eating but I am ambivalent about how to describe them now. I would have liked more broccoli and a bit more rice in the dish. The staff is a very good crew and very pleasant.

love this location in Alamo heights. serene and peaceful. staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there. kind of unpleasant. spring rolls overcooked. they apologized and just salhrugged and said that’s how they are coming out. (maybe lower the temp or change the oil). rest of the food was decent. restrooms were clean. condiment area not stocked.

I did not like the music that the restaurant played too loud and too busy, a group of us went there to relax and enjoy good food and friends, the music was not relaxing it was the type of music you would hear at some cheap bar or some local radio station that you’re tiered of hearing. And it was loud we could hardly hear ourselves talk.

This restaurant serves old food to save on food costs so she can get that bonus. I will never eat here again!! If I hadn’t heard the employees talking about it while I was there. It was sick because I had finished my food. Clean this place out get rid of the entire team cause one person had to know and for them to keep quiet it’s a complete failure as upper management.

Cashier charge us for sodas, and unfortunately was not soda, machine broke, they don’t have the common sense to offer something, until my daughter decide to ask one of the employees, he gave us an apology for the inconvenience and offer us bottles of water, but come on guys, you should be more proactive about this kind of situations, definitely we going back to see if the service and quality of food improves.

This is such a beautiful location. There is a patio outside, with flowers and benches. The staff works efficiently during all the rushes, and the food was delicious.
