Awesome place with a spectacular view of the lake. Sat at the oyster bar for a cocktail (the cajun lady was really good) while waiting for the side bar and kitchen to open. We had grilled oysters, bbq shrimp and shrimp Creole, all which were delicious. The side bar was a cool nautical theme bar with a nice atmosphere until a group of obnoxious men came in waving money at the bartender then started playing music so loudly on their phone you couldn’t even hear the music in the bar. We probably would have stayed for another drink but since we had finished eating, we got our check and left. I’d still go back though, it’s not their fault people are idiots!

It’s so nice to sit outside and enjoy the lake. The charbroiled oysters were yummy. The fresh fish was pompano and needed a little more seasoning but it was still good. The potato salad is something I’ll get next visit!

I went here on NYE2022 with family for lunch. We made a reservation for 11:30am. We were the first ones there and the tables quickly began to be occupied indoors as noon approached. There were many sitting on the patio deck when I left.

We had onion rings to start. I had Chilean Salmon and hubs had Cedar Plank Gulf fish. For dessert we split a key lime pie. The poinsettias and bloody Mary’s were delicious. Madison was a wonderful server and the atmosphere cannot be beat. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day! Can’t wait to come back

First time here was an enjoyable experience. We sat outside because the weather was so perfect! The seafood platter, mac and cheese, and raw oysters were a tasty dinner! Reasonably priced, as well, with an all day special on mimosas and champagne. We gazed upon a beautiful view of the lake while we ate. Their bathrooms were clean too. Our server was prompt, kind, and helpful. When we noticed one of our oysters was overly muddy and gritty, she took it back for us and brought us 2 new ones to make up for it. The only suggestion I’d make is for the bartenders to be more diligent on glass polishing. My glass had light lipstick stains on it when I received my mimosa but, they did make me a fresh one in a clean, new glass. All in all, happy with the experience. We will definitely be back again!

Date night was great at Pat’s Rest Awhile in Mandeville, LA. The food came out pretty quick. The staff was super friendly and helpful the entire time. Austin was our waiter and he did a great job, checking on us frequently. Pat’s is located on the lakefront and has exceptional sunset views!

I am from AZ and was visiting my sis and brother in law – they told me Rest A While is a must do and they were right! Great atmosphere; lively, friendly and welcoming. The food was great- I had crab cakes that were delicious, and tried one of my brother in law’s hush puppies… yummy! The onion string are not to be missed, crispy, perfectly seasoned and sweet onions. So good! Service was friendly and professional! What a cool place.
