You haven’t lived! …until you’ve tried Pastiche’s ever so lightly battered halibut, sided with creamy scalloped potatoes and gently steamed asparagus. Appitized with a bowl of oven baked tomatoe en croute. Complimented exquisitely with a glass of Côtes du Rhône blanc, and finished with a delightful oeufs a la neige for dessert.

Nice place, retro chic. Service was kind of off for todays visit. “Chef didn’t have the fryer on” so our fries were substantially late compared to the main entre. Was never even offered a refill on beverage that depleted 1/2 way through meal. Was prior to lunch rush so not like they were too busy.

Nice bar that you can sit and chat with friends away from the chaos of the clubs and crowded bars on that block. You get pretty good service and a good selection of drinks.

Very nice setting, celebrated my grandparents 50th anniversary here. We were a group of 17 and we booked an amazing private room. The waitress herself was very friendly and nice although she was very fast and it was hard to get her attention. I like the scallops and prawn dish I got myself. I tried my brothers steak though and it was very tough and chewy. Also he asked medium well and it came out as more medium cooked. The chicken though, was probably the worst dish. I tried a little bit and it was very bland. The lemon tart was good but kind of lacking flavor. However, the creme brûlée was out of this world! I did a family brunch here a few years ago also and it was spectacular. Overall a great place and I will be hosting more events in the future. I do recommend.

Great food. Had their breakfast; steak & eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly and everything was fresh.

Hotel Metro’s breakfast used to be one of my favorite places in Milwaukee. The decor was classy and comfortable and the menu had so many delicious options. Once the restaurant turned into the Pastiche, I was excited to try out the new menu. Walking in, the whole decor looked shabby, the comfortable seating was gone, and everything looked darker and old. I used to love the big cups of coffee they used to serve but now it was a tiny French serving with maybe 4 or 5 sips of coffee. The menu had very few options but I decided to try the brie omelette (which doesn’t come with breakfast potatoes). It was extremely thin, oily, and burned on the edges. There was no flavor. A side of fruit was served and it was a fruit cup of pre-chopped fruits that you apparently eat with a spoon…not very appetizing for breakfast and really strange. I felt like I was ordering off of the senior menu. I’m very disappointed in the Pastiche and now have one less place to go to breakfast in Milwaukee.

Salmon was perfection. Potato/asparagus perfect. Dessert subpar quality, salad ridiculously sparse, altho dressing w anchovy tasted exactly as should, perfectly prepared. Meal Service was laughably bad-forgot forks 3 times, then brought large salad fork for tiny dessert pieces. Beverage server was perfectly trained and nice personality. We figured someone was just filling in. I would dine there again, overall nice experience.

My boyfriend and I went her to celebrate my birthday. When the hostes asked if we were celebrating anything, we said we were celebrating my birthday. We did not expect anything free and we did not receive anything. When we were just about done with our main meal, the couple behind us stated that they were also celebrating a birthday and the hostess promptly stated that she would give them some free bubbly. Then when their server came over, he wished the her a happy birthday. I was hurt that the hostes did not treat me the same way as the other birthday girl. I told our server, Jack, and he was very understanding and gave us some free bubbly. The food I ordered was amazing. The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had and the truffle risotto was also amazing. Jack was an amazing server. He was so nice and is very good at his job. I would eat here again!

Delicious! The baked brie appetizer was really good: baguette, brie, and marmalade all combined really nicely. My sister and I both got the Pastiche Burger, and it was juicy and the cheese and garlic aioli were delicious flavors alongside the beef. Fries were perfect and the recommended aioli dip for the fries was surprisingly great. And our waiter was funny and took great care of us the whole time. Overall an excellent experience. Prices are high but not out of line with all the other places in downtown Milwaukee we scoped out. Highly recommend!

It was downtown dining week, I ate,at Bayview twice a month before they moved. I was,so disappointed. I had a 530 reservation and was seated immediately. It took 15 minutes for our server to bring a menu. She then forgot the wine menu. She came back 5 minutes later with it. The restaurant was not crowded. My husband and i had the French onion soup which came out quickly and must have been microwaved as it had hot and cold spots in it and very little broth and we were not provided a soup spoon to eat it with. We both had the chicken with mushroom stuffing, the skin was rubbery and really there was no need for the skin. The chicken itself was very dry and came out a few minutes after the soup. I asked for some extra marsala sauce from the water girl as our waitress never checked on us at that point. So there was no opportunity to send it back. My husband had the same experience with his dish. We received 4 gnocchi and 4 green beans as a side. Yes only 4. There was a large table with 5 kids under 5 right to my right. The one child had a tantrum. While this was not my waitresses fault a suggestion could have been made to bring the child to the north vestibule where she could have continued because the parents did little about it. I spent a lot of money to hear a tantrum for well over 15 minutes. Angela’s tarts for dessert were incredible though. The only highlight. My husband was charged $5 for a soda. I tipped my waitress 20 percent despite the service. All in all, I can’t see us going back as it was the worst 130 bucks I ever spent on food. I’m sorry about this but Pastiche was my favorite for years and I feel bad about writing a bad review, but it was our worst downtown dining experience.
