Pastaio is definitely the place to go for authentic Italian food in the Steubenville area. The service is above and beyond. I felt like I was in my mom’s or Nonna’s kitchen table. The wine list is superb, the sauce delish, and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. Next time, we’ll definitely dine al fresco. It’s worth every penny spent.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here. I set a reservation for 7pm and we were seated by 7:05. Our meals took a bit longer than expected, but were definitely worth the wait, and they surprised us with a beautiful desert sampler on the house that was ALMOST too beautiful to eat.. almost, lol. At the end of the night, my wife and I were more than happy with the experience. Try it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Mom and I shared a mixed fried seafood. Really good! I had the mushroom ravioli and mom had the spaghetti with meatballs. Both very tasty. Service was great! Had a brachetto to start and dolcetto d’Alba with the food. Delicious pairing with the ravioli. Crème brûlée was yummy too. Will definitely be back for more.

This is truly an elite dining experience. The cuisine was by far the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten, and everything was served fast, hot, fresh, and delicious. The owner came out after our meal and we had a great conversation about his business and food. Great guy! The only reason I am rating my experience as a 4-star is because our dining experience was beyond rushed. We called the day of and the host that I spoke to stated that we didn’t need to make reservations “on a day like this”. However upon arriving, we were told that we could only be seated if we “promised to be out within an hour” because they had a reservation for our specific table an hour from when we arrived. With no other options besides sitting outside (yuck), we agreed to these terms. I didn’t like feeling rushed in my dining experience, but I will more than certainly be back again for the food.

I have been here with my fiance several times now. We ordered the clams appetizer, which was delicious. There was a small issue with them and the owner insisted on making it right for us which we really did appreciate. Our dinner was great and dessert was delicious as well. If you have the opportunity to get the pistachio cake I highly recommend it. The owner is very caring and does his best to ensure you enjoy your experience. We appreciate this so much and will continue to come back.

Ok, first I will start by saying the owner came from Italy with my father in law and we heard from him what a great cook he was, so we had to go check it out! Second, we were greeted and seated very quickly but we highly suggest making a reservation! Third our waiter, was so professional we thought we were at a high end restaurant in Pittsburgh. Fourth, the food was amazing…check out my pictures! We loved the atmosphere too! We highly recommend checking this restaurant and chef ‍ out as an authentic ITALIAN RESTURANTE’ !! THANK YOU SO MUCH WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR MEAL AND WE WILL BE BACK!!

What an absolute delight! A co-worker recommended Pastaio to us for dinner and we were NOT disappointed! The food was so fresh and flavorful. We couldn’t decide what we liked the most. The portions are just right and bursting with those great Italian flavors. Lots of great dishes to choose from the menu. The waitstaff were top notch and we had several staff check on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We come to town often for work and this is now on the top of our list of places to eat while we are here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great, authentic Italian dining experience. We will be back often!

Traveled an hour based on an internet post about the restaurant being featured on America’s Best Restaurants. The menu selection, service, and welcoming atmosphere are Gold Star. We highly recommend and suggest you make reservations. Have not tasted pasta and sauce this good since we traveled to Italy!
