A taste of France in Pittsburgh! We “splurged” and treated ourselves to this dining experience. First, the atmosphere is spectacular. Anyone that loves France or French culture will immediately fell swept away by the authentic vibe of the place.

Claiming to be a true French restaurant in Pittsburgh, we had the chance to try it when some friends came to town and we also happened to get a gift certificate to it. The dinner menu was not very appealing but they had a Sunday brunch menu that was, and so we made reservations and tried them out.

A small street frontage connects to a long back space, via the kitchens. The menu reflects a traditional French bistro, but the food was a slight disappointment: the onion soup was scalding hot (good) but more broth than onion; the chicken thighs in cider dish from Normandy arrived with a brown sauce, which wasn’t what I was expecting, and came with literally no vegetables. Wine by the glass was decent, if a touch expensive. My server was great.

Pretentious and expensive. We went on Sunday for brunch without a reservation and they said there were “fully booked” however they accommodated us, which we appreciated. However there were plenty of open tables in the restaurant. Maybe they were under staffed. Im sorry but $14 for a mimosa is way too much. Eggs Benedict plate for $18 is an expensive breakfast. An expresso (double) for over $5 is overpriced. Service is good and staff is friendly. I think perhaps is the owner that wants to charge extra, for really nothing out of the ordinary. This was the most expensive brunch I’ve ever had. For 2 people, over $60 and not including the tip, honestly, I do not recommend this place because of the pricing. There are plenty of less priced and highly rated places around this restaurant.

Dinner menu is pricey. The creps were rather flat and chewy. No ice in water glass–probably Euopean style. Long wait for food but server was very friendly and knowledgeable about menu. I would choose the lunch menu rather than dinner. Limited desert choices. But good to have a bit of France in Pittsburgh.

This is the second time my husband and I have dined at Paris 66 and we already cannot wait to come back! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch. The restaurant was very busy both times we were there, however, we never felt rushed. We felt that we were able to truly take our time and enjoy our meals/wine thoroughly. We highly recommend Paris 66 for anyone looking for an authentic high quality meal!

Had a decent meal, first time eating French food. Overall fun. Foie gras is nice and “appetizing”, a bit shy on quantity though. Demi-glacé sounds so tasty on paper but it tastes a bit boring. the shank was cooked thoroughly so that is all right. Waiter is great, filling up my water all the time and not bothering me while I am eating. Left this review because I had even more fun reading the owner debate the one-star reviews in French. Keep it up, man.
